Britney Spears is still quite popular, tv show appearances, performances, song sales and whatnot. Hannah Montana is bound to continue to be an amazing record seller, performer, musician, artists, and whatnots. She is going to do what those horrific past bands could not, and that is remain in the limilite for an extensive period of time, remain as popular or even more popular than she is now, and continue to spew out the most prolific and amazing lyrics that speak of the truths of life.

I doubt that she will fall, she has already broken the barrier of just being known for only one song, and she has made countless tv appearances, award show hostings and performances, and is already in a tv show and movies. She is set for life.

Again, so many bands of the past before her have done that same thing and they always fall no matter what any one person may think.

hehe you say she will never fall? last time i checked because of the laws of nature nobody is inmortal not even hannah montana

Wrong, she did well because she can get in touch with people in a variety of different demographic and age groups. She is able to reach everyone. Heed and hear the calling

Age groups being the threshold of people that whacked off to her "pictures"?

You cant name a single musical troupe, band, or artist that has done as well as Hannah Montana in such a short time span!

You're right, The Beatles did terrible when they were alive.

90% of her audience is made up of girls under the age of 16. Unless they have kids of the afformentioned age group, and sex, almost everyone over 40 has NEVER heard of her. Many in their 20's and 30's have heard of her, but few listen to her religiously. She is definitely not able to reach everyone, as demonstrated in this topic where all but a few people here hate her.

Michael Jackson was getting platinum records by the time he was 10. One single album of his sold 100 million copies around the world. He was more successful than Hannah Montana within a shorter period of time, and even he faded into relative obscurity. It would be total obscurity if not for the scandal that has surrounded him for the last 15 years. Given that the man who sold more records than anyone else since...well, ever, fell into obscurity, can you seriously continue to think that Hannah Montana will avoid the same thing.

P.S, Joy is freaking hilarious this thread. :lol :lol :lol

I am eternally sorry, but I must disagree, she has been able to reach the upper teens to the elderly equally well. I see fans of all ages everywhere I go. Unless you are deliberately ignoring the songs or tv or the fansites, then you are missing her fans. This topic is a small psuedomicrocosm of the actual perception of Hannah Montana in the public eye; contrary to the way that the participants of this thread believe, she is actually quite successful. I bet that it has even blown your mind that she has done, is doing, and no doubt will do all that she already has. Easily could win best vocalist for the year!

She is definitely not comparable to Micheal Jackson in that the times have changed and people have changed what they listen to. He has lived beyond his prime and is still very popular among the people of today, he continues to gain new listeners (exactly what Hannah Montana is doing) through his already released tracks and cds that are still selling. He has not fallen into obscurity for he is still a household name. Hannah Montana is now a household name and is just as popular as him, all that matters now is for her to sell more songs, continue to remain on the charts, release more, and just to survive at the top of the analogous food chain of the musical world with her impactful music.

No its the fact that they have been reached by her, they are just deafening their ears and not listening to her for whatever unknown reason

Except here, in which you've seen one or two fans out of twenty people. It is highly unlikely that we are that much of an anomaly if, as you say, she has reached every age group. We are made up mostly of teens and twenty somethings and none of us like her. That should be proof enough that she has not reached any age group. If you need further proof, go and check how many 80 year olds in the nursing home are blasting Nobody's Perfect out of their record players.

I don't deny her massive success amongst the tweens but her fanbase is almost non-existent in most other age groups.

*sigh* People always change what they listen to. A musical style hasn't been the predominant style for more than a decade or two since romanticism. People will change their tastes again in another ten years. The fact that the 80's were exactly the same as every other time period since the beginning of the world doesn't matter in the slightest.

He is very popular among people today only in jokes involving him fondling children and his racial obscurity. >_>

His CD's don't sell much anymore and he is the King of Pop no longer.

There is a difference between surviving, and staying in public consciousness, as you said with Jackson and remaining the preeminent musician. It is very difficult for her to remain something she hasn't become. There are bands today that outsell her records.

And her "impactful" music is a bunch of half-hearted bubblegum pop whose incites are incredibly shallow and oversimplified.

Because we think her music sucks!!!! She hasn't reached us because we've heard her music and don't like it. Is it really so hard to comprehend that we think differently than you? We aren't "deafening our ears" and going into a state of self-denial over music we secretly love. We just don't like it.

well i think you should know this by now but most of us think that HER VOICE IS COMPLETELY ANNOYING, I RATHER GO DEAF BEFORE LISTENING TO 1 OF HER FULL SONGS, so yeah she reached to me in a way that gives me a headace.

It is hard for me to believe that people can dislike her music so much. Ive never been in a scene in which people were not on the same spectrum of music as I. It just blows my mind to think that someone as popular as HM is not liked within this microcosm of the population. It may be oversimplified and it may be shallow but it sounds good and speaks truth. What more can I ask for than listening to "Make Some Noise" to pump me up for the day.

At the nursing homes they do play Hannah Montana on the tv and sing the music on the radio. At heatlhcare spas and gyms they play her music. So I do believe that it is popular enough in these different areas to definitely reach out to people. I think the reason why the people here dont like her is that they feel ashamed to listen to someone so young an dso talented. Outwardly you all display dislike but deep down, you adore her and would ultimately be her ultimate fans, but some stigma sticks out that makes you not want to be associated with her music. I hit it on the nail hard.

So do you listen to Three 6 Mafia? They are famous and selling tons of records.

Starrynite, if you want to start having a chance at winning a debate, try using facts to back up what you say like everyone else.
