Starrynite said:I doubt that she will fall, she has already broken the barrier of just being known for only one song, and she has made countless tv appearances, award show hostings and performances, and is already in a tv show and movies. She is set for life.
Starrynite said:Hannah Montana is bound to continue to be [...] horrific [...] and continue to spew
Starrynite said:Wrong, she did well because she can get in touch with people in a variety of different demographic and age groups. She is able to reach everyone. Heed and hear the calling
Starrynite said:You cant name a single musical troupe, band, or artist that has done as well as Hannah Montana in such a short time span!
90% of her audience is made up of girls under the age of 16. Unless they have kids of the afformentioned age group, and sex, almost everyone over 40 has NEVER heard of her. Many in their 20's and 30's have heard of her, but few listen to her religiously. She is definitely not able to reach everyone, as demonstrated in this topic where all but a few people here hate her.Starrynite said:Wrong, she did well because she can get in touch with people in a variety of different demographic and age groups. Starrynite said:Britney Spears is still quite popular, tv show appearances, performances, song sales and whatnot. Hannah Montana is bound to continue to be an amazing record seller, performer, musician, artists, and whatnots. She is going to do what those horrific past bands could not, and that is remain in the limilite for an extensive period of time, remain as popular or even more popular than she is now, and continue to spew out the most prolific and amazing lyrics that speak of the truths of life.
I doubt that she will fall, she has already broken the barrier of just being known for only one song, and she has made countless tv appearances, award show hostings and performances, and is already in a tv show and movies. She is set for life.
Michael Jackson was getting platinum records by the time he was 10. One single album of his sold 100 million copies around the world. He was more successful than Hannah Montana within a shorter period of time, and even he faded into relative obscurity. It would be total obscurity if not for the scandal that has surrounded him for the last 15 years. Given that the man who sold more records than anyone else since...well, ever, fell into obscurity, can you seriously continue to think that Hannah Montana will avoid the same thing.Starrynite said:You cant name a single musical troupe, band, or artist that has done as well as Hannah Montana in such a short time span!

Except here, in which you've seen one or two fans out of twenty people. It is highly unlikely that we are that much of an anomaly if, as you say, she has reached every age group. We are made up mostly of teens and twenty somethings and none of us like her. That should be proof enough that she has not reached any age group. If you need further proof, go and check how many 80 year olds in the nursing home are blasting Nobody's Perfect out of their record players.Starrynite said:I am eternally sorry, but I must disagree, she has been able to reach the upper teens to the elderly equally well. I see fans of all ages everywhere I go.
*sigh* People always change what they listen to. A musical style hasn't been the predominant style for more than a decade or two since romanticism. People will change their tastes again in another ten years. The fact that the 80's were exactly the same as every other time period since the beginning of the world doesn't matter in the slightest.Starrynite said:She is definitely not comparable to Micheal Jackson in that the times have changed and people have changed what they listen to.
He is very popular among people today only in jokes involving him fondling children and his racial obscurity. >_>Starrynite said:He has lived beyond his prime and is still very popular among the people of today, he continues to gain new listeners (exactly what Hannah Montana is doing) through his already released tracks and cds that are still selling. He has not fallen into obscurity for he is still a household name.
There is a difference between surviving, and staying in public consciousness, as you said with Jackson and remaining the preeminent musician. It is very difficult for her to remain something she hasn't become. There are bands today that outsell her records.Starrynite said:Hannah Montana is now a household name and is just as popular as him, all that matters now is for her to sell more songs, continue to remain on the charts, release more, and just to survive at the top of the analogous food chain of the musical world with her impactful music.
Because we think her music sucks!!!! She hasn't reached us because we've heard her music and don't like it. Is it really so hard to comprehend that we think differently than you? We aren't "deafening our ears" and going into a state of self-denial over music we secretly love. We just don't like it.Starrynite said:No its the fact that they have been reached by her, they are just deafening their ears and not listening to her for whatever unknown reason

Yes, this is very much like a microcosm of the population, in that most people don't listen to Hannah Montana a lot. For once, I agree.Starrynite said:microcosm of the population.
