Re: Do You Find Today's RPG'S Are Way Easier Than The Ones 20 Years Ago?

Damitt!!

Congrats on your stars x2!

Re: Do You Find Today's RPG'S Are Way Easier Than The Ones 20 Years Ago?

:D But to answer your question, I don't think most modern RPG's are easier, they are just made to be funner and less annoying. There is still challenge to be had, but it's more in a strategic sense, which is awesome. If I tried to play the original NES Dragon Warrior I'd get about half hour in and quit because it's simply not fun having a random battle literally every 5 steps.

I can't believe I put that post in the wrong section.

I think RPG'S these days are a cakewalk compared to the ones from the early 90's.I think "FF 1" for the nes was around at the time and was very hard to play."Dragon Warrior" titles for the nes I remember being difficult at times.I just think that today's RPG's baby us too much.

God Bless,

You, sir, must be playing the wrong rpgs.

Try Fire Emblem on the Wii, or Persona 4 on Hard.

You already had a topic asking about whether rpgs these days were too easy, which I know because I already answered it. See the above quote.

My answer is still the same. No, I do not think rpgs these days are easier. Or perhaps it's more correct to say that some are easy, but if you really want to play a hardcore rpg, there's still plenty out there. In some cases it just requires playing an rpg you may already own on a higher difficulty level.

For future reference - if you have an idea for a topic, and anywhere in that sentence is the three letters RPG, or it has ANYTHING to do with rpgs, you can just post it in this thread. Or you can read this thread and see if the question was already asked, and then you can answer it.

So Persona 4 has difficulty settings? That is nice. I wish more RPG's had that feature.

Yep. I think it's plenty difficult on the normal setting :lol but for an extra challenge you can set it to Hard. ^_^

That reminds me, I need to level grind a little bit more in Persona 4 and then I can probably finish it. I actually took on the final boss and got pwned, hence the need to level some more.

I also should start playing Persona on the PSP. I hear they are also putting Persona 3 on the PSP, which I am excited about.

How many hours do you have into Persona 4? I been holding off on playing it since it's the last really good PS2 game I have, but I dunno how much longer I can wait...

I don't remember, but I'd guess somewhere around 90 hours.

Speaking of Mass Effect 2 let me know what you think Cherry. I remember when the first ME came out we were like school girls.

I also just redeemed my code for the Blood Dragon Armor I got from buying Dragon Age Origins for Mass Effect 2.

You know what I hate? Empty treasure chests. What the flux.

Or the ones in the "Final Fantasy" titles that give a regular potion when you're like level.75 with 7000 hp.
