wow

just let me say

wow

this game, is a shining technical achievement, and a true art form. the game truly magnifies the sense of aloneness that previous games, like the metroid series, have strived to achieve. the sense of dread, as you walk down a dark hallway, lights flashing on and off - is truly something special. the graphics, especially in the beginning, are some of the best i have ever seen. period. it is by far the scariest game ever made, with the eerie glow from the outside water looming in, and the enemies screaming through the darkness. the weapons are very unique and something you wont see in any old halo. go preorder this game, and buy it the second you can.

now

seriously, go.

Did you seriously just say that the Halo weapons aren't unique? :lol

Anyways, I agree that Bioshock is really creepy. The graphics are incredible, and add to the eeriness. The beginning of the demo throws you right into the world of Rapture. It's weird how the plane you're on just happens to crash into the area right by that huge tower. Maybe that will be explained later on in the game. Seeing a comrade get torn to pieces when you first enter Rapture is crazy. I remember trying to open the door or find a weapon, but to no avail.

Weapons... uh, not unique.

Wrench- basic melee weapon, found in Half Life Opposing Force and the concept of a melee only weapon goes back further than that.
Revolver- Its a pistol... revolvers (and pistols) can be found in tons of FPS games.
Tommy Gun- Its in every WW2 game ever made pretty much.

yeah, smg, BR, sniper rifle, grenades and even the plasma pistol/rifle have been done before

Bubble grenades, plasma sword, brute hammer, sticky grenades. Just a few of the unique weapons in Halo. :)

I agree with Spartan. The weapons in Bioshock aren't incredibly unique, although the plasmids are pretty cool. I just can't wait to pick this up next Tuesday. I want to get into the story! :D

Ah, not that's the words I was thinking of. That explains everything perfectly. ;D

I have to say though, I don't think the weapons in Bioshock are unique. They have an interesting look about them, but they have been done before. The plasmids are pretty cool though.

As for Halo, it really doesn't have too unique of weapons. Sure, there are some that are a little different, but there are a lot that are basically ripoffs of other weapons.

exactly

as for bioshock weapons, have you watched gameplay footage online?? you can ducttape things to them, adding fuctionality. you can modify pretty much every aspect of every weapon. and a wrench? i dont remember that being in any game iv ever played.

also, the supernatural gene powers are pretty amazing as well. throwing fire and lighting out of your hands?

heck yes!

I just said, the wrench is a weapon in Half Life Opposing force, the first expansion pack to Half Life.

The plasmid powers are cool, but the demo ones aren't.

Yeah, those have pretty much been done before, but look in some of the trailers. They have some really, really weird stuff, like a plasmid that makes some sort of swarm of bugs grow out of your arm, and attack your enemies...If that ain't inventive, I don't know what is...

Yeah, I know. But the whole "shoot fire/lightning" spells aren't that innovative.

The full game has a lot more though.
Of course, but those cliches are just the tip of the iceberg. Plus, setting stuff on fire looks way cooler in this game. :D

Guess what guys? I found a sweet little easter egg..thanks to 1up.com...you can unlock HARD MODE on the demo...

From the Xbox 360 Dashboard, head into your Gamer Profile and select the Game Defaults option. Once in there, click on General and change the Difficulty option to "Hard." When you load up the BioShock demo, the previously unreachable Hard difficulty option will now be highlighted. If you accidentally hit the analog stick and move away from the Hard option (thus making it unreachable again), you can hit the B button to back out and give it another shot.

I absolutely LOVED the demo. I can't wait to get my hands on it next week and I'm going to tear all those splicers and Big Daddies a new one. I know the replay value on this game will be insane.

The scariest part in the demo was probably when the woman is over a baby carriage singing a lullaby in a raspy demented voice, and after you beat her down with your wrench or shock her you find out a revolver is in the baby carriage. Tried it with every light off around 3 A.M. nearly peed my pants. My favorite part was when the little sister was harvesting ADAM from an angel (If you have played it you know what an angel is) and a splicer hits her, signaling a big daddy, he pulverises that stupid splicer and By the way I just bought 2 12 packs of game fuel cans and 2 2-liters.
