I'm not sure if it was the plasmids, because none of the enemies you face had those powers. Maybe ADAM was just something people developed underwater. Oh who knows, we'll know soon enough! ::D

No, it was the plasmids. We already know. I can't give you a link, because I quite honestly don't remember where it was stated, but the reason everyone went crazy was overuse of plasmids...I'll work on finding a link...till then, you'll just have to go on my word, lol...

Lol well nobody's really going to know until the end of the game. The Plasmids my have helped spur it along, but if that was it, then there's really not much of a game if you already know the story. You know what I mean?

Here's an article that talks about it...they have to be either talking about plasmids, or those things that help improve your skills...I wish I could remember what they are called...

Yeah, they're talking about Plasmids through the use of ADAM. I knew it had to be ADAM from the beginning. That's what the Little Sisters and everyone else are after as well.

Good job finding the link Homi.

Yet what you use to fuel your plasmids is called an EVE hypo (Maybe EVE is the counterpart of ADAM, like death is the counterpart of life. Or EVE could have caused the destruction of rapture and the way to save your life is to keep yourself on a steady diet of ADAM.)

I looked at the Eve, and Adam thing, as symbolism too. ADAM, and EVE, together helped create the paradise of Rapture, and rapture is like the Garden of Eden. However, just as Eve destroyed paradise, ADAM destroyed, another Utopia, Rapture.

What caused the destruction of Rapture was because ADAM was an addictive drug, driving people who "spliced themselves (inject with plasmids, and ADAM)" crazy. They began murdering for ADAM, causing utter chaos. The very reason Rapture thrived, was also the reason for its downfall.

I can't help but feel the story in this game will be one of the best ever seen.

I was thinking since Eve was the downfall of Human perfection, EVE was the downfall of another human perfection (a second Eden, Rapture.)
Well, in this case, the creator, and ultimate destroyer of Rapture is Andrew Ryan, a man, so its only fitting that the tool with which he destroys the city is ADAM...

This game looks so complex.......so much to uncover about this city underwater that went wrong.....so much death and confusion in EVEs and ADAMs....cant wait. ;D

im getting it for xmas, so if your going to spoil it, could you please put *spoilers* in the thread title? :)
None of these are really spoilers. In many cases, they've been known about these game for months. Hell, the only reason I know these things is that I've been following the game for a while...

Hopefully no one who has the game will put in any spoilers...on second thought...can anyone posting spoilers put a spoiler warning or something?

Yeah, I am getting it more because of the game drought than actually wanting it. I figure if I give it 2 or 3 playthroughs it will last me up until Halo 3.
