Wii for $250???

Sounds to me like omeone from the Sony or Microsift camp may be throwing out some negative rumors. But then again I could be wrong.

Either way, it will be a lot cheaper than it's counterparts.

I found it on google news. That's a bit higher than what they were aiming at. And sounds high for an 800 MHz machine.

Don't get fooled by CPU clock numbers. PowerPC chips are rated lower than X86 chips. It doesn't mean they are slow, it's just that they processs information differently.

Nintendo is using a PowerPC chip. So if you compare the numbers, an 800 MHZ chip is about the same speed as a 1.2-1.4 GHZ X86 chip.

Meh, I'll probably get the 360 before this, mainly because it interests me more. I don't think I'll ever buy another playstation... ever.

I forget... didn't the Gamecube start at $250?

the other 2 systems were $350, and the cube was $250... then shortly after Sony dropped to $300... and Nintendo and MS both dropped $50 off their prices to follow suit...

IF the Revolution comes out at the same price the Gamecube did... I won't be unhappy.  IMO... $250 is still an attainable figure... and seeing all the system is offering right now... the $250 would be worth and an a good figure. $200 sounds better though.

If it's $200-$250 I most likely get both the PS3 and the Wii at launch and save the 360 for later.

No I think the $500 model will suit my personal needs just fine. I'm not really interested in all the extra mumbo jumbo on the system, I don't have an hdtv at this time so all the extra stuff is not really necessary at this time for me. A few years down the line, yeah probably, but not now. I just want to play the games.

well... just remember.... you cannot upgrade it later (like you can with the Xbox 360).

I'm aware, but by the time I decide I need any of those peripheral, the price will have gone down and I'll be able to buy the upgraded machine for less. :D
