Okay, you know what, you just have to stop bringing up the fact that I'm not obsessed with Halo. This has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion we're having now.

I don't want Master Chief to die because I obsessively hate Halo (and I don't even. I liked Halo 2's multiplayer, and I plan to buy Halo 3). I think it would be an interesting direction to take the plot. Master Chief, even though genetically enhanced, is still human. Its possible for him to die, like...Idk, if the Covenant managed to deploy another Ring World, and destroy every living being in the universe.

Having humanity and Master Chief lose, if done correctly (and I'm pretty sure it won't even happen), could be a really good ending. MC has had this near invincibility through all the Halo games, and to have him finally fail in his mission would show that he, is indeed still human, beneath all the armor, circuitry, and genetic enhancements.

I'm not sure how me wanting this kind of ending has anything to do with me thinking Halo's overrated.

Everything. I once again bring up another one of my points. How come you didn't say the if Samus died, it would be a great ending for MP 3? Because you love MP. After three games defending humanity, you and all of humanity falters? Get real.

Exactly. A couple of my friends who are getting Halo 3 don't have a gold membership....so it'll be cool to be able to play online coop with them.

Even though I'm pretty quiet here about it, I'm one of those people who build an alter in their closet for Halo. I really like the idea of him dying at the end of 3.

If anything, it would bring the story to an end. And if he dies somehow ending the war, it really would "Finish the Fight."

Yeah, first of all, we never discussed possible endings for Metroid Prime 3, second of all, the Prime series takes place before Metroid II and Super Metroid, so in order to be canon, Samus has to live. That point has no merit...

Actually...to modify this post...I'd like to say that I don't know the story of MP...but then again..it's not really as big as the Halo franchise in terms of as much speculation. The only speculation I saw about it was if Mother Brain or whatever it's called was going to be in it. So for that, I apologize. My point being, I think I know why you would love if humanity along with MC dying would be great (which doesn't happen, as proved with the latest video), but I know that you wouldn't admit to it. I think I know...but it's just my opinion. We'll leave it at that. :)

It has been confirmed that humanity survives the war. Watch the newest TV spot for Halo 3, it takes place 30 (I think) years after Halo 3.

I'm not sure why they would spoil such a major plot detail like that.

I saw it, though and you're right. Humanity does survive.

Yeah, we didn't fight through 2 (and soon to be 3) games to watch of all our efforts go to waste. Plus, IMO, the journey is better than the destination.
