Wow, I'm gone for a day and I missed all the excitement. :lol

I do think Master Chief will probably end up dying, though. Some of the magazine adds kind of lead me to that theory. It's the one where it says,
"A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him."

Would that be a cliche ending? It's debatable, but if that's the best way to end it, then so be it. Everything is full of cliches now, since everything has been done. It's just a matter of how well it is pulled off.

Seriously though, the whole MC giving up his life for the masses would be a cliche. Jesus did it. Real or not, self sacrifice has been a major theme for at least 2000 years. I think Bungie's smarter than that though. It doesn't matter either way to me, obviously, but I enjoy videogames with interesting and original plotlines. It gives a lot of credit to the medium as a whole.

Yeah, that's a great point. I hope MC doesn't die, myself. I kind of wonder what he would do after the war is over.

I would absolutely love to see an ending that had humanity, and MC dying. Like have him come so close to victory, and then kill him at the last second...that one would be a surprise...

Surprises don't always mean good. I actually think that would probably be the least likely ending though.

Maybe they'll be trying to go the MGS way, with the hero dying and becoming a "legend". Gotta try and get my Live sorted out before this comes out. Not much time...!!!

Seriously, I think given MC's passion for what he does, I think he'd end up being a trainer in the UNSC and training the next generation of Spartans or even just regular soldiers. I don't see him doing anything mundane, really.

I know, but I would just love to see the good guys lose for once. I'm so sick of seeing the exact same "happily ever after" crap, everywhere I turn. :P
