Alpha, you were talking about acting childish yesterday. You should practice what you preach. Trying to insult any member of this forum's intelligence is just childish. :)

Halo 2's ending was crap...sure...but that's cause it didn't end there. Pirates of the Caribbean 2's ending was crap as well, but people still loved the third. :)

Cliche is a general spectrum. You've seen it done in movies way too many times. When it makes it's way to video games, if it hasn't already, it is the same thing. It does not apply to JUST video games. It is a story issue and simply that. If you saw master chief die to save the galaxy or whatever, you'd think to yourself "Alright...that was kinda cool...but overdone..." Because your minds don't focus on one single area of entertainment. You know it :D

Wow....I'm not sure who's intelligence I insulted. Maybe you strubes? I just pointed out that I believed neither of you had understanding of the word cliche. I thought it was a pretty good point.

Strubes just used my point to compare movies to video games. Thanks for backing me up. Besides, potc 3 was actually a pretty good freaking movie. It was well made, but I won't start dropping lingo on everyone so I don't have to refer to wikipedia and dictionary again :D

Potc 1 was good, 2 sucked, 3 was good.

Maybe that's why halo 3 will be alright, because halo 1 was alright.

Alpha...When you post something as general as "if you don't understand, you must have less than 5 brain cells"..it's geared towards the general audience...basically stating that if someone here doesn't agree with you about your whole "cliche" rant, then their stupid?

That other SPACE movie with Bruce willis and and an asteroid...

Jeez, both are in space, imagine that.

No strubes. I was pointing out that if you don't understand my example of a cliche ending to halo 3, your brain cell count must be lower than five because it's very simple to understand.

Ask your questions and I'll answer them. After I give you an actual explanation. That's something I've yet to see done by other people.

Please...please...please don't act like you know more than other members. It just makes you look bad...real bad. I can think of cliche on my own...being something that's done time and time and time again. Practical endings and the like. You don't have to send a Wikipedia or Dictionary site my way. Which I find it funny how you don't think I know what that means when I had a very valid point in stating that no other video game to my knowledge has used that "cliche".

Edit : But strubes, since you know what is cliche. You'd know that if MC dies saving a planet. That would be cliche. Otherwise you have very little knowledge of the term. That was a personal insult.

and even if it HAS been in movies, its never been done in games before

so people want to play it, not just watch it.

Jesus Christ! No one said he would. You jumped in on a conversation started by me. I said MC should die at the end. Strubes I think said yea, saving the planet would be cool. I said that would be cliche. It turned in to a big argument. I made points, I got insulted. It was really quite fantastic.

Also, don't turn yourself into the victim Alpha. That's simple just not feasible. You tried to insult Hines and myself in a very childish manner. Let's leave it at that before the mods end up getting involved.

Back to Halo 3 discussion...A little over 2 weeks...I can't wait! :o

Hmmm. I wish mods would get involved. I'll admit, I insulted right back after I was insulted. No question about that.

Quit making yourself out to be some greater being when you can't make your greater mind point out that what I said was a good point. This was a discussion until I started getting argued with. Asked to prove my point. Giving examples and all that crap. I can't get through your thick heads. At least I have the brainpower to make an educated point.

I'm done with this thread. Insult me in pm's or something.

@Alpha - I was kind of hoping the mods would join in as well...because as childish as this sounds...you started the insulting. You're still trying to make yourself sound like some kind of victim...like you were the first to become insulted....which just wasn't the case. So I'm fine leaving it at that.

Let's get this back on the Halo 3 track. 8)

Wow...that got a little out hand...I can't believe you're all managing to argue over a thus-far, non-existent ending.

It is a cliche for the protagonist to give up his life (or attempt to give up his life) to accomplish...whatever he is trying to accomplish, but what does this even have to do with Halo 3? WE DON'T EVEN KNOW THE ENDING YET!!! :lol
