Ocarina of Time is still the best

No one is complaining about the last temple in MM where you have to flip it upside down? :lol that one was the worst.

No actually I really liked that one. I don't know why but for me the water temple was just awful, and Gyorg was stupidly hard to beat.

Hate for OoT's Water Temple? But that's like a one of the best temples in the game. It's so challenging, fun and very atmospheric. And beating the temple is very satisfying.

If there was anything that was bad in OoT, it was probably the lack of fast transport during the kid Link part of the game. Kind of kills the the fun of exploration when you have to walk everywhere on a huge map... that and the trading quest for the big sword is pretty annoying, and so is catching all of the big poes just to get a stinking empty bottle.

Oh, wait. I just thought of a temple that did suck in OoT. The Shadow Temple. Such a boring dungeon.

Wait. You just said not being able to jump across the world kills the fun of exploration.

yeah it's very annoying not having epona on the beginnig of he game, walking on the same direction for 10 minutes get's boring.

but running with epona in TP is more fun than in OoT (because i can kill enemies on the way)

You can also just plow into the enemies in TP on the horse. Oh wait, it takes them three seconds to even attack, and by then, you're already gone.

You didn't even understand what I said.
The tedium of walking back and forth through an already explored area just to get to a new area kills the want of exploring new areas because you have to travel through the huge already explored area constantly and at a very slow pace.

Getting the horse and the warp songs later on stopped this annoyance however, but it just puts a damper on the first half of the game.

If you're able to warp to an area, you've already explored it, though. And you've already covered the entire world(pretty much) by the time you're an adult.

Yeah. That's true.
Doesn't make the first half any less tedious though.

I like walking around better. Walking is better for exploring than horseback riding. You can take in the sights better. Horseback riding was more for going past areas faster than exploring them.

wich is why wind waker and phantom hourglass have a lot more exploration, even if you don't want to, you have to sail and explore the whole sea

Phantom Hourglass has a much smaller sea than Wind Waker, and only a few islands.

yeah that's right, but still you have to sail to each of the islands at least until you get the power to teleport

Is she starting Zelda? If so, personally, I'd say start with Minish Cap or Phantom Hourglass. No. The Oracle games. Those have easy controls and are fun as....wait, I should put those two on the list. *runs off*

I started with OOT, and I'm glad I did. It was nice not knowing the "start off with a couple temples, end up with a few more" way of doing things, and not knowing what mystical item you would obtain in the next temple. Ultimately though, she's in for a pleasant surprise no matter which game she starts with.

She's watched my dad play through Zelda, Zelda III, OOT, Majora's Mask and Windwaker. She's played a bit of Zelda III before too. This is her first attempt at actually playing OOT though... Besides, my parents just have a GameCube now, though I still have a NES, an SNES, and a GBA/SP.

Actually, you might. Now that it's not new, and you've played plenty of other games, it might not seem as amazing.
