See, that's the thing. No one said he couldn't dislike it. We were merely disagreeing with him.

Thank you. It's like I was being crucified for not liking Metroid.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

How about if you don't like it, post once saying that you don't like it, then let the rest of us who like it discuss it. Yes, I know, staying on topic is just something you don't see much of nowadays but don't waste a whole page arguing who has the right to voice opinions. Anyway, I saw some vids for the game. The game looks pretty darn good, especially with the Wiimote functionality. Can't wait for it's release.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

No it's true, I didn't make my point clear.

I am not picking on you Strubes and I apologize if that's how it sounded. You don't like the game. It's a personal taste issue. I get that. I respect that.

But it's not a horrible game. It's a great game. It's just a game you don't like. That is an important distinction to make, IMO.

That's why I compared it to Charlie's Angels. We can all agree that Charlie's Angels sucks. It's a terrible game. Controls, storyline, graphics, etc.

Here's an example of what I mean. I hate Gran Turismo 4. Can't stand it. But I recognize that even though I hate it, it's a well-made game. It's critically acclaimed, and people that like those kind of games believe it is a great game. Do you get what I am saying? You can hate Metroid Prime all you want, but that doesn't mean that it is not a well-made game. You personally just don't like it.

That's all I am trying to say. Metroid Prime is a well-made game that just does not suit everyone, that's all.

That sounds like Metroid fanboy trolling to me.

Well technically I'm on a Metroid topic talking about Metroid and how I like Metroid, so it cannot by definition be trolling.

Trolling would be me going to the XBOX section and posting in a Halo topic about how Halo sucks because it's not Metroid. That's not what I did though.

Back on topic, I still need to finish Metroid Prime 2. I think the only thing that is will be a problem with Metroid Prime 3 is that if you haven't played the first two it might not make any sense. It might have been better to have a new Metroid that used the Prime engine but had its own storyline so that newbies wouldn't have to know the entire Prime backstory.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I really didn't have problems getting into it at all.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

By the time you got into it, it was over. Four hour game, pfft.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I can pull a picture up right now of my 100% file in about four hours. Four hours and fifteen minutes or something.

Huh. I don't remember the exact time but it didn't feel like four hours. Maybe it took me forever because I play Metroid about as well as a drunken monkey with terrts.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

We all know Metroid Prime was lame because it was boring. Call it "adventure" or "exploration" all you like, but when you walk down the same hallway for the 37th time and you kill the same enemy for the 37th time and you realize you still can't get any farther down this hallway for the 36th time (assuming the first time you came down it you weren't expecting a dead end), the game gets boring. Don't even try to argue that, we all know it's true, rather I can direct your immediate desire to post a response in a more productive fashion.

What about Metroid Prime 3 is going to be different? I know 2 had the whole "light world dark world" thing going on, but what is it about the 3rd installment that's going to put it above the 1st and 2nd game? I ask this because I haven't really followed the hype on this game (because I had little interest in the first two for reasons mentioned previous) so can anyone tell me how this game is going to be different and/or better?

Re: Metroid Prime 3

That's the whole thing about Metroid. Back tracking. You have to be able to appreciate the puzzleesqueness(wtf?) of the world.

I agree. The first two became really boring. Thank god I only spent $10 to get both of them.

I don't. I was never bored with the game and I honestly think you are in a big minority calling it lame so to say that everyone thinks its lame because its boring is just kind of ridiculous.

I'm right, and everyone who disagrees with me is just in denial. Like an alcoholic who doesn't think they have a problem. Except in this case, there are more alcoholics than there are sober-ites, so the alcoholics try to justify they're addiction to the sauce by saying if the majority does it, then it has to be right. But it's not. The alcoholics are wrong. And so are you... if you disagree with me. The sooner everyone can accept that, the better off we'll all be.

:lol

Also, if I ever make such an obviously ridiculous statement such as "everyone thinks one of the most popular games on the Gamecube is lame" I'm not being entirely serious. I know it doesn't always translate through text very well, but when in doubt, I'm probably being sarcastic. The sooner everyone learns that, the better off we'll all be. :D

Although I really do think Metroid Prime was lame. Exploration to me implies going somewhere you've never been, which I found to be sorely lacking in MP. It seemed like I was constantly on familiar ground, and when I did open up a new area, I only had to "explore" for about 5 minutes to realize I needed to do another hour of backtracking just to get another 5 minutes of exploration, and so on.
