It sucked to me. It was too generic of a shooter for me.

It's not supposed to be a shooter, so I don't really get how you came to that conclusion. The fps part of the game is there but Metroid has always been more about exploration and adventure. Most people complain about the backtracking and fail to realize that Metroid has always been that way. You find a place you can't reach yet because you don't have the right equipment; when you get the right equipment you go back and that part is now open to you. I think if anything Metroid is nongeneric because it doesn't follow the fps formula. It's not a Halo wannabe like most fps games ended up being. How many fps games allow you to scan your enemies? As far as the graphics, I thought they were great.

Edited to add, I don't mean to disrespect Halo because I do love that game. But honestly, what makes Halo different from other shooters? Not much, really, other than the fact that it was the first huge game for the XBOX. If it had come out on the PC first it would have been ignored as just another fps and people would have continued playing Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, and Half-Life instead.

Metroid is totally different from that. It's not all out action like Halo or pop-and-shoot like Gears of War. If you go into it expecting it to be like other fps games, it is easy to become disappointed. You might not have given it enough time, IMO.

As Mai just said, it isn't a shooter. It is first person and you shoot stuff, but it is an adventure game first, shooter second. And as for it being generic, that I just don't get because it was like completely original (the gameplay not the universe and story and stuff)

Agreed, Metroid Prime is the only game of its kind that I actually like, really. Screw all the Xbox 360 shooters.

I'd like to quote myself so Homicidal Cherry can see I wasn't only complaining about graphics. ;)
Oh. I'm sorry I was wrong. It doesn't seem like graphics matter to you at all. ::) Maybe it was the whole "The graphics totally ruined the game for me." comment that confused me.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

Compare all the WWII FPS games. Besides having different locations, what do they actually do different on the FPS scale?

Apples and Oranges. Metroid Prime isn't like other shooters so I really don't think we can compare them. I see Metroid Prime more in its own genre than the FPS genre,

Re: Metroid Prime 3

See, so no one an even say it's a bad FPS, because it isn't.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

At least Metroid is exclusive. I'm getting tired of all these dang War games. Just give it a rest.

Well then lests not dwell on the past. Metroid Prime on the wii is going to be awsome. I played the demo at the fusion tour and the controls were awsome.

Oh, good! I was a little concerned about if they pull the controls off really well or not.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

:lol :lol

If it's an adventure game then Idk what those developers were thinking...it was terrible beyond imagination...lmao. That is my opinion, thank you very much. Don't really care what everyone else thinks. ;)

Re: Metroid Prime 3

Well, you posted that you didn't like Metroid Prime on the Nintendo section. What did you expect? That we would just go "Oh yeah Metroid Prime did have horrible graphics and played like crap." I'm sorry but it just sounds like Halo fanboy trolling to me, especially given that Metroid Prime did not have horrible graphics and did not play like crap. You want to know what crap on the Gamecube is? Play Charlie's Angels, and then tell me that Metroid Prime is horrible. :lol

For the rest of us that are actually looking forward to Metroid Prime 3, let's get back to that. ^_^ I can't wait to use the nunchuk for grappling. That will be so cool.

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I think in the screenies, Samus' hand that was reaching out looked bad. Looked jagged.

I can't wait for ANYTHING in this game, especially the wii-mote functions. Other than Mass Effect, this is my most anticipated game and that should tell you about how much I loved the first two (mostly the first one. The second was great but not as good as the first)

That sounds like Metroid fanboy trolling to me. 8) As far as I knew, people were allowed to voice their opinion on this forum. Tough for you if you don't like it. ;)

Yes and if people are allowed to voice their opinions, we should be allowed to say we disagree with you, like Mai just did. She never said she couldn't post your opinion. She just said she disagreed with you and if you say "Metroid Prime sucks" on a Nintendo forum, you can't expect that there won't be any fallout.

Maybe you should read it again. :lol

When did I say she couldn't voice her opinion? I thought it was funny how harsh she was trying to make it. I always thought Microsoft and Sony fanboys were the worst. Guess I was wrong. :lol

You never directly said it, but Mai never said that you couldn't voice your opinion either, so I guess I'll just say what you said to me:

Maybe you should read her post again. :lol

I never said she said I couldn't make an opinion. I was just pointing out the obvious. 8)

Re: Metroid Prime 3

I'm gonna take Strubes side...I love the Metroid games personally but it's not against the law to dislike it, guys. Jesus...
