Hello Members,

A friend of mine at the club was telling me that "Shock Sites" are illegal in Canada. Is that true?He said once you download you've broken the law.Does that mean it's illegal to just view as long as you don't download?

Just for the record,it's very important to me that you know that I do not view things that are extremy gruesome sexually, nor do I view anything with respect to "Animal Cruelty",and especially anything that even closely related to sickening child exploitation in any fashion whatsoever!

I've always been a fan of Horror movies, and mild macabre, but that in know way makes me any less of a person, and I truly hope you guys don't think otherwise,if you do,then please let me know and I will leave the Forum with no hard feelings.

Sincerely,
MR.KAZ

Umm, well, I don't think anyone is going to think anything less of you for liking horror movies. So, don't worry bout that.

well i like some gore in some games but i do hate to see real life blood, so i think i understand how you feel.

Trust me, you don't want to go to those. I've seen the content on some of them and to this day those images bother me a lot.

I know exactly how you feel,I had the same problem. On the bright side, that initial shock can be suppressed over time,When I first saw the "Beheading Videos" I was truly disturbed, but after a couple of weeks,it stopped bothering me all the time.I know we are two different people, but hang in there, pretty soon the fancy wears off and you become bored of all that crap on various sites anyway.

As far as forgetting, you can't un-ring the bell.Chances are you will never forget this material. But it's my belief that the reason it burns into your memory like that,is God's way of telling you to stop watching that crap.Everyday gets better,I promise you.

God bless 13:35

This happened when I was about 21, almost seven years ago. It doesn't bother me on a constant basis, but from time to time the images come from the back of my mind. I had no intent of ever seeing them. Just a friend of my brother seemed to be into that sort of thing at the time and told me to come look.

I can understand why they're illegal.

I think people can make their own choices and jazz, but I have never attempted to see anything "real". I cannot emotionally handle that sort of thing at all. I only like pretend stuff in movies.

Yeah, movies don't bother me. In fact I normally laugh at movie violence. I guess I just don't understand what would make someone want to see that but to each their own.

Why would you ever watch that crap in the first place? Beheading videos? DUDE!?!

I think I messed up my last quote,so here it goes.

Curiosity is why I saw them.I've always been a fan of horror movies, and the occasional crime scene photos.

For the record,I'm not some bloodsucking scum that enjoy's watching people get their head cut off,nor am I some sick whaco that gets off on sickening sexual sites,or anything even closely related to the above mentioned material.

I am a good person with a good heart and my faith in God is as strong as can be.I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression about me.I don't get up in the morning and go straight to the PC so I can eat breakfeast and watch some poor soul having his head cut off.It is very important to me that you and the other members know that I'm not some scum sucking being who gets off on seeing the truly disturbing material.

Oh I know you're not a bad person KAZ! I think it is just human nature to have a curiosity by those sorts of images and videos. I just don't think it's something anybody should make a habit of! Go out and play some baseball or something, it's much healthier for the mind!

Thank you x2 for your reply.I just don't want people to get the wrong impression.Shock Sites usually have other options such as "Humor","Prank Calls" things of that nature.
I just didn't want people to think I'm some sick freek, because that couldn't be further from the truth. It's human nature to be curious about things like violence, etc.Did you ever notice that in high school when two guys are scrapping in the parking lot how quick the people are to rush over there to get a glance?

My apologies x2 for coming off as angry goof,it's just that I don't want people thinking I'm a sicko.

God bless. 13:35

like X2 said it's just human to be curious, however the time i was curious i couldn't sleep for months, and i know that curiosity killed the cat >_> but it was an e-mail from a friend, and the shock was so big that now i don't check e-mails anymore (unless they are from companies or whatnot)

I empathize with things too much, so I can't really watch stuff like that.

You know that movie, Face Off, the part when one of the characters has no face and he's like touching it? I passed out while watching that, because I was starting to think about what it must feel like.

I also can't watch parts where people get poked with needles, because I hate needles in real life.

Sometimes I can handle gross stuff in anime, though. Like Ninja Scroll, which is bloody as heck, but I don't have a problem with it. On the other hand, I haven't attempted to watch the Kill Bill stuff yet because I don't know if I would be able to handle it.

I used to love B horror movies. But that got old. I remember one movie called Squirm. It was about a field that gets electrified and mutates all these worms so they grow teeth and bore into people and junk. It was okay.

As for real life stuff, not interested one bit. I don't think it's because of the gore and whatnot, but I have this belief that once the soul leaves, then it's just an empty shell. I know. I'm weird like that.

I don't like needles though. I am getting better about it. They are just an inconvenience now. When I was 14, I almost punched out a nurse for sticking me with a needle.

Whoa, you actually passed out? You must really identify extremely much with stuff! It sounds sorta cute er something. lol

I love the Kill Bill movies, but I guess I can see how they are not for everyone. There was one scene in the Devil's Rejects that was a little too much for me, tho I still loved that movie.

Needles are ok with me, but stuff being done to eyeballs bothers me in movies. lol

I think that getting some enjoyment out of real life suffering is tad too psycho for me. I live out in suburbia, where the grass is green, the people who drive nice cars are morons, and the kids are idiots. Its when the latter come together is wehn there is a problem. Out in front of my apartment I have literally seen people die. I have seen the EMS pull corpses pulled from cars. You see, I live in what is know as the "Triangle of Death"; an intersection of three different streets where countless people have been killed due to their stupidity. Do I get enjoyment out of this? No, 911 knows why I call them at all times of the day. I've seen upside down cars, kid's bikes, smashed turn signals, all the stuff that makes you want to be a little more careful in life. Nevermind that around this evil triangle, there are people being shot, beaten and stabbed to death. oh and that "Craig's list murderer" also was about a mile from where I live. Again, this is just suburbia, not downtown.

I do believe in capital punishment and think that it should be carried out swiftly and more often to eliminate the crap that plagues our legal system. At least I could relish in the fact the world is a little bit safer for my daughter.

Nice to meet you weaponepsilon,I don't believe we have shared a post before, welcome aboard.

"Psycho"is no word to be used loosely",However evil some human is,you don't think he's suffering sitting in a cell with nothing on his mind but not knowing when the boys are coming to take him away and put him to death, yet you relish in the fact that someone is about to be put to death so your daughter is safer, however evil a person may be,you don't think he's suffering knowing that very soon he's going to die.Would you feel the same way if it was your mother about to be put to death?

No offense, but who cares if they are suffering? They did the crime knowing full well what the punishment is, so they got what they deserve. I have absolutely no sympathy for murderers, terrorists and rapists. Let them fry for all I care. That's one less piece of crap we need to feed and shelter in our already massively over crowded prisons.

What's up x2,

I see where you're coming from, you make a good point.Would your feelings on this issue be the same if it was one of your loved ones that commited a crime such as murder or rape?
