JAPAN ONLY SO FAR!! GRRRR!! Death and Carnage to them!!!! >:(

Wow. That fails. :(

The VC game I'm wanting the most is Jet Force Gemini, but seeing as how that's a Rare game, I don't think it'll happen.

Whoa and I hought I was the only one that wanted Jet Force Gemini to come. Mario RPG is finally one of the most sought out VC games, so June is such a great month!

can a japanese wii send gifts ??? (i managed to send gifts to venezuela o_o)

Oh, but, at least that means there's a chance for it to come here. I would assume if they can put it on the VC in Japan, they ought to be able to here.

@Mai, again you have saved me from the fiery pits of dispair! You are correct, there will be a strong chance this will make it.

However, this game uses the Super FX chip...that Nintendo themselves claimed "Wii couldnt emulate" properly....which means if they pull it off correctly...we will be able to see STAR FOX SNES and Mario Kart SNES as well...

and correct me if i'm wrong but castlevania SNES used the same thing? or i'm confusing it with something else that castlevania SNES did?

CastleVania 4 used "Mode 7"

Mario Kart SNES used Mode 7 as well..just like F-Zero...so I made a mistake there..because it's easily possible to put Mario Kart SNES on VC.

Super FX2 chip was used on a few games:

Games that used the Super FX chip

Dirt Trax
Star Fox
Stunt Race FX
Vortex

Games that used the Super FX 2 chip
Doom
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Winter Gold

Super Mario RPG however, used a special type, I forgot the name of it...something like The Nintendo SA-1 (Super Accelerator 1) which is a microprocessor. Which was used in late SNES games from 1995 to 1997.

I'm assuming the R&D team for the Virtual Console had some problems in the past, but I think they're able to pull it off now.

Region-locked.

And Rare has said Nintendo can put any of their games up, it's Nintendo who's stubborn.

Really, Fhq? Come on, then, Nintendo! :(

As for the Super FX issue, I'm betting they found some sort of workaround. Either they got the FX technology to emulate properly on the Wii, or they rebuilt the game specifically for the Wii without the use of the chip... :/

I really find it hard to believe that they can't emulate the Super FX chip, though. I mean, I have a PS2 SNES emulator, and even THAT can play SMRPG...

well if the game is in japan it means is possible, we just need to wait until it comes here (or hope that does)

I cant imagine why they wouldnt release such a popular and sought after title. Ive never seen Nintendo not deliver what its fans have wanted.

well when it comes to japan to america they have not, for example we are getting the third fire emblem (wich is a remake of the first with extra content and story) here in america after asking so much for it....and also earthbound for the VC must be coming soon.

Because both Square and Nintendo are based in Japan. Also, Square doesn't think the Virtual Console is any good and a waste of time, so what they're doing is testing the waters to see if it will sell(which it will).
lern2logic

Also, it's 900 Wii Points.

Yes the utter evil of living in a money controlled world, charge premium prices for games :( I would love to be able to have this title, though I do not want to wait a full few months to get it.

Uhh that's Captialism and what America is all about.

I don't see how $9 for SMRPG is anything but a steal, anyways.
