Bioshock #2 All time on Gamerankings

no, not even close!

And Metroid Prime 3 isn't as detailed as either, but it's still going to be a good game. The graphics argument is tired and should be left alone already. Gears of War and Bioshock are both great games in their own right.

I'm not even sure why you are bringing this up, as you're looking forward to Bioshock as much as anyone else, aren't you? :)

oh god, yes. but it bothers me to see people say that its graphics are all powerful and better than gears, when they are far from it. it wouldnt bother me if they sucked, which they dont, but they are definitly not better than gears of war.

i know its the number 2 best rated game ever, but that doesnt mean you need to blow the graphics out of porportion, which people around here seem to be doing.

I think they have pretty amazing graphics, and I love the art-style of the game. Graphics aren't all about how many pixels can be pushed.

well when you say "better graphics" that certainly means polygon count

or else you would say "cooler art style" or "unique looking graphics"

When I say "better graphics...", I mean the graphics look better to me.

This argument is pointless anyways...

yeah, but still, it makes me mad.

yeah it got great reviews

doesnt mean its graphics are better

which is exactly what some of you think

Dude, Zelda got #1 because Ocarina of Time completely revolutionized the action adventure genre, and is considered by many to be the best game of all time. Even if you don't like it, the fact that so many people have it as their favorite game, I think merits the top spot on gamerankings.

That's debatable. It didn't really revolutionize anything as far as I could see it, but hey. People have opinions. Oh well.

About the graphics. It's a baseless argument. Bioshock looks the best in it's graphics engine....and Gears of War looks best in its graphics engine.

Well the thing is that you had to play OoT right when it came out to see the revolutionary aspects of it. If you played it anytime after that, so many games copied (and improved upon) elements of OoT that it wouldn't seem revolutionary in comparison. :)

Yeah, I was gonna ask if he played it new. Graphics should be fitting rather than polys. Every game has something different that fits it, so it's just a matter of how well they pull it off. Like Galaxy. Looks amazing. Less polys than Bioshock, though.

I agree, but if you look at the time at which OoT came out, you will see that there really was no other game like it that came before it, and many new elements included in OoT changed the genre forever. When it came out, there had never been an action-adventure game like that.

OOT is still more fun today than most new games. Hell, If OOT came out after twilight princess, Id still like it more.
