Zelda OoT 3DS Thread (Release date: June 19th!)

Re: Zelda OoT 3DS Thread

Even though it's a game I have already played, I can't wait to see OoT on the 3DS. <3 Hunting poes in 3D is gonna be super awesome.

Re: Zelda OoT 3DS Thread

Yea I really can't wait either. OOT is my all time favorite game, yet I can barely tolerate the N64 controller anymore. And the Gamecube version was really no better, buggy and the controls were weird. So for me this is perfect, not only will we get smooth controls but actually updated graphics also, not just sharper resolution like the GC version. So it's definitely worth my money.

Nice! I'm going to have to reserve it and pay it off a little at a time, since June 19 falls right after a big anime convention. :lol

EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, yes. The 3D effect is so wonderful. I'm almost through the Deku Tree right now. Can't wait to really get into it. Unfortunately, I never got past the Deku Tree in the original… I hated the way Link rolled and the graphics were so…bad.

The music sounds AMAZING and the graphics look so sweet. The sounds and ambiance are great, too.

Loving this game so far. :D

Not sure about the 3D. It takes away focus from certain areas which is bugging the heck out of me. And that beginning fly-through of Kokiri was killer on my eyes, especially with all the fairies bouncing around. That sucked!

My quick review: It's OoT, so it's already an awesome game but the game could've used a bit more of a bump in the polygon and texture department. It looks crisper than the GC version but still looks like a beefed up N64 game. I'll still play this game for a long time though.

I guess the 3D affects people differently for different games. A lot of people tell me DoA has great 3D but I rather have that one in 2D all the time. but for OOT I never have an issue and leave it 100% of the time in 3D, it just looks better for me that way.

It just bothers me when I want to shift my focus to something else, only to be hindered by a 3D effect that forces me to focus on the foreground image. It's quite annoying. Overall, it works and it was just that fly-through that hurt. For me, it doesn't add to the awesomeness that is OoT. It's quite a novelty for me. I'll still play with it on though to see if my opinion changes later.

The only thing about the 3D that bothers me is that it's hard to keep it in the sweet spot. I find myself having to adjust the 3DS a lot so that I don't get ghosting.

But supposedly if you turn the 3D slider down to about halfway, the 3D still looks awesome and there is less ghosting. So I may try that.

Today I was a little mad at myself because I accidentally turned off the 3DS when I had meant to hit Start. Luckily it was only like a few minutes worth of redoing stuff that I had to do. ^_^ And also, it was in the Forest Temple, which is my favorite, so it wasn't that bad.
