Who are we kidding, I bet that people here do own at least Wii Fit, Wii Play, or even the other productivity and brain games from Nintendo, as well as knowing that you all are going to pick up Wii Music.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Granted, I think Wii Play sucked, but the Brain Age games are a lot of fun. Haven't played Wii Fit so, unlike some people, I'm not going to judge it without having played it. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's true even for traditional games.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

It just seems counter productive to say that hardcore gamers are alienated when in fact they are buying these games, as evidenced by the large profits. IF Nintendo has found something I doubt they are going to make these same games while turning their nose away from this treasure box of casual, productivity, and brain games phenomenon.

Unless they can ensure that some game can sell as well, if not better than Super Mario Bros Brawl, then I can possibly say without a shadow of a doubt that these games will be coming out.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

The problem with traditional games, and appealing to the hardcore crowd, is that the hardcore crowd is actually the minority. And even within that group, not everyone likes the same kind of game.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

Yes its a shame that it is that way. I love Nintendo, but everytime i turn and look at the games that I have for the Wii, I always look and gasp in awe at the lack of traditional games that are available. It is a cute little system that just seems to leave me hungry for more games like MP and SMG and CB and Spyro and Sonic and such.

Considering that no one bought Metroid Prime : Corruption, no wonder it seems like they are moving away and focusing dead on their new aim. The so called alienated hard core gamers have brought this on themselves. Yep, those 1.37 million people didn't buy Metroid Prime 3. They must've bought Halo instead.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

This will probably be fun. Then I'm thinking two weeks after its purchase, it will be forgotten. Just my thought. Kudos for trying something new, but don't forget about your faithful, Miyamoto.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

If they work out a way to have downloadable content, they could keep it going for a while, just like Rock Band.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

Apparently it's not a thread until Starrynite annoys everyone by pointlessly arguing.

That said I am a sucker for music games, I am interested to see more info on this game.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

having only a mere 1.37 million people is not really a lot considering that there tons of games that have sold more in a shorter period of time on the Wii thus far.

So? You said nobody bought it, when clearly 1.37 million people did.

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

Yeah and in terms of games sales that is nobody compared to games with sales in excess of the Tens of Millions.

There's only 35 games that have topped 9 million. Only 885 have topped 1 million.

If 1 million is considered nobody, then why did Ubisoft and Crytek celebrate when their games hit the 1 million mark?

Re: Miyamoto's next project: Wii Music

The Metroid series is actually niche, even amongst hardcore gamers. So I'd say 1 million sales is in fact pretty good for MP3.

Nova, Mai, and everyone else, you know what, I give up!!!!!

FINALLY.

now back to bussiness, is true that miyamoto is developing games to the casual audience, however remember that his first games (zelda and mario) were also targeting to a casual audience, i think miyamoto's plan is to get more people in gaming like he did years ago, with games like wii fit and wii music. now because a game is not hardcore does not equal that the game itself is bad, heck guitar hero is a game that many casual gamers bought for the wii, but you all will agree that guitar hero/rockband are great games.

second, last zelda game was phantom hourglass for the DS, those who played it would agree that the game was indeed awesome, however it was not developed by miyamoto, it was developed with the help of eiji anouma, my point is that even if miyamoto is concentrating in 1 game (wich he usually does) he will let other competent developers do the job of games we want, or did you forget that metroid prime 3 was developed by retro studios.
