Wii Fit

That has nothing to do with the discussion. We're not discussing if you like it. The words 'some people' mean...not just you...or really, you at all.

Maybe you're not talking about if I like it..but as I've stated since my first post, it's just what I think. AKA, my opinion. ;)

yeah like running is the only exerise the body needs, jogging or running only helps in the cardio fitnes... wii fit has both exercises for mind and body, is worth 90$ with all that is packed with (counting like i said no need to pay for unnecesary fees or yoga class)

I don't need all that stuff. I could see the same results by running 3 times a week and staying on a good diet.

again that's not enough to be truly fit (go to health class and personal fitness class)

We were talking about other people and why they would get it, not why you won't, though.

Neither is Wii-fit.

you truly know nothing of the game do you??? *sigh*

All I'm saying...is that to me, Wii fit is not worth it. You're not going to be truly fit if you just play Wii fit. There's alot more to it. Like Homi stated, you also need a healthy diet. That's just one of the many things you need.

This game does what it needs to do well, which is make people active...but I prefer other ways.

well the game does have a plan inside to deal with "outside wiifit fitness" where it helps you with diets and how many minutes you should jog... again at least go to your wii and download the nintendo channel and listen to miyamoto's interview and the wiifit info

See, I'd have to disagree. If you don't have time to run three days a week for an average of 20 minutes each...how are you going to have time to play Wii Fit? I don't get the logic in that. :-\

Wii Fit is something you can just pick up (not literally) and play. Running requires a fuller commitment of consecutive time, whereas Wii Fit can be played whenever a person has a spare five minutes.

Like I said, it's not some magic bullet that will make you drop 20 pounds with no work, but it may help people who don't have the free time to exercise if they combine it with other things

I am, and it is. Being that I am quite literally broke, I usually don't (or can't) get my mom more than a card for Mother's Day. XD

Yeah, when I was younger I would just get her cheap perfume or something. My mom that is.

I told my wife about it and her first response was, "What, do you think I am fat!" :lol

I will get it for her, but I guess I still have to get flowers also.

Yeah, but 5 minutes won't help anything. You HAVE to make a commitment of consecutive time if you want to see results. If you want to play it for fun, then more power to you. But you won't see results playing 5 minutes at a time.

you will have more results than jogging 5 minutes

Jogging sure.
So, if you have five spare minutes before having to leave somewhere, you can either a) play WiiFit or b) spend those five minutes driving to a gym, not being able to do anything, and driving to where ever you were supposed to be.

Not if you have random five-minute intervals that are like 40 minutes, combined. Not only that, but I think that people will be far more inclined to play Wii Fit than they are to run.

I'm not arguing the fact of what people will do..because most people here (U.S.A.) are lazy. Of course they'd rather play a game and have the illusion that it's doing something for them then actually putting in the work.

So you honestly think Wii Fit will do nothing for your health? You don't think that the somewhat low-impact exercises that you do in Wii Fit help your health even slightly?

And there is nothing specific to the U.S about that makes people adverse to exercising just for the sake of exercising. It's just that the rest of the world doesn't need to deliberately run on a treadmill for a half hour to stay in decent shape. Most get enough exercise elsewhere. We're really no lazier than the rest of the world in this case. The only difference is that more people use cars here (again, because we're the most industrialized country in the world, not because we're lazy) and other things that remove the need to walk or run a lot.

>_> Illusion that it's doing something for them? Kinda like the Game Informer article where they imported it and the guy who tried it lost five pounds in a week? Yeah, that didn't happen.

Slightly? Sure.

The U.S. is the fattest country on Earth. It isn't because of what we use for transportation. Sure, that adds to it. But it's because of how we market stuff here as well. And how parents bring up their kids. You can try arguing it all you want though.

GI. lol.

Did they tell you how much he played it? And what he was eating? How bout his sleeping arrangements.

Actually, here's a good question. How many people arguing this are old enough and have had a gym membership?

even if we had one, the gym is still away from our house and you still wouldn't have the 5 minutes to go there and go back, and also you would lose more money on the membership itself... is it so hard for you to understand that wii fit might be a better exercise program (and a cheaper one) to be healthy?
