Wii consumers, being "Stingy" and games not selling well?

The PS2 also brought its PSone fanbase with it, and therefore most of the same franchises. Nintendo is coming off of the Gamecube, which lived mostly off of Nintendo's own games, with a few great third party games every once in a while. It is the same with the Wii, although less noticeable since the system itself is selling far better than the Gamecube.

Wasn't Super Mario Galaxy supposed to boost sales, considering it's the fastest selling Mario game ever? I mean, really, Brawl isn't the only first party title that sells.

Fastest selling Mario ever? Not even close, considering the first four Mario platformers were all bundled with systems and sold over 10 million units.

It did sell well though. It and TP both did very well but those are the only big sellers out there, outside of Brawl, and *shudders* Wii Play.

Hm, I could swear I heard it somewhere.

me too but i don't remember where... the wii has his best sellers and people be honest... there a lot of hidden wii games that are good but no one wants to even try (zack and wiki and no more heroes come to mind)

Although you're correct about a few hidden gems, there aren't exactly a lot of them. Maybe three or four at the most.

Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes, Okami, Fire Emblem, Trauma Center(x2), Baroque, Sam and Max Season One.

don't forget umbrella chronicles, sonic and the secret rings, super monkey ball banana blitz (for super monkey ball fans), mario kart (obviously is going to be under the radar sadly) and metroid prime 3 corruption, also super paper mario i think, and batallion wars , nights , alone in the dark (though is a remake) emmm geometry wars galaxies and i should keep looking for more.

these games are at least worth a rent to check them out.

A lot of the games you guys just listed didn't exactly get stellar reviews.

A game like No More Heroes, for example, did some really neat things, but it's not exactly a "hidden gem." The title got decent advertising, it just wasn't that great of a game.

Okami, Sam and Max, geometry wars, all exist on other consoles and are reportedly better or cheaper on the other consoles (though, of course, differing opinions on "better" are valid).

Fire Emblem, Umbrella Chronicles, and the Trauma Centers (which is a great game, btw) have all appeared on other consoles, perhaps in a slightly varied form.

Games like Sonic and Super Monkey Ball may be worth renting or checking out, but they're certainly not hidden gems either. I dunno, it just seems like good games on the Wii always need an asterisk or a footnote saying "certain parts of this game are incredible but the rest is garbage" or "done before/better/cheaper on another system."

well not a lot of people have actually bought no more heroes but those that do absolutly love the game.

i agree ps2 okami might be better (though i'll side with the wii version) i don't know about sam and max but definetly in my opinion geometry wars combo with the DS version is a good idea.

now the last 3 games..... they are all WII exclusives (except for new blood but if you played its obvious why i think is better).

i do have to agree with sonic and monkey ball, but who knows if you rent them you might like them.

therefore i disagree for the most part on your last sentence, but i have to admit that for some part you are right

I really wouldn't say they are exclusives (especially not Resident Evil). I really haven't had the time to play the other two titles so I will just stick to the Resident Evil games. Sure UC had different gameplay but, it had the same story as the other Resident Evil games sure it had a few new scenes but, it really is the same game.

they have the other side of ada's story and rebeccas and also a brand new storyline of the end of umbrella so not exactly the same. think of it as crisis core

Apparently part of NPD's new statistics pegged the Wii with an attach rate of six point whatever, meaning that the Wii is only behind the 360 by one game when it comes to how many games people buy per console.

I know they can't Wii Sports as one, and Wii Play as well. Brawl would be another no brainer for any Wii owner, so there's three right off the bat. Mario and Zelda probably generated a lot of sales, maybe Metroid too.

Combine that with the games Zidart mentioned... I think an attach rate of 6 sounds reasonable for the Wii.

But with GTA IV's launch, I think the 360's will rise pretty quickly.
