Nintendo's lame excuse?

We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on WiiWare than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare.

>:(

I really dont care that much about VC. Ive played my fair amount of games that I ever wanted to play. I want more WiiWare games and as a future developer, I am supporting them.

WiiWare games are more fun anyways. ^^

Why is that? Is it the originality perhaps? Interactive Wii controls? Maybe the older games aren't as trendy as they once were when retro gaming was popular?

What I'm sensing is people are not buying them, because they've already played them before in the past and wish for something new.

^ Much like this statement, is the reason why VC isn't selling well.

I Still want some Ys III >_> (though i am probably like the only person who bought Ys book I and II for the VC anyway XD)

The article that is at the top of this thread does not detail the "full" story

The fake statement:

"Dear Jorge,
We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on Wiiware than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare.
Also, we in America have NO plans to update the Internet Channel or the Nintendo Channel. We hope you understand"

The Real Statement from Nintendo of America's senior director of public relations, Charlie Scibetta:
Each week Nintendo makes available a mix of Virtual Console, WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but many more are on the way via all of these digital delivery systems.
