Was the Super Nintendo the Best system ever?

I usually say the original NES was my favorite, followed by Super NES. Original NES had three of my favorite games of all time, Legend of Zelda, Punch Out, and Mario 3

i play the nes more, but the snes i think is superior game wise. i don't think the cube comes anywhere close to it. i think the best systems are the snes, psx, and gameboy, not necessarily in that order.

Agreed, SNES, PSX and GBA are my favorites.

Xbox is up there for the more recent games/systems though.

for a sec i thought you meant best with that lot, no offense :)
neogeo had a lot of cute stuff, but saturn was no good for me at all.
i wouldn't consider any of the systems currently as best yet. can't give that till their current legacy ends

If I could only have one system, it would be the SNES, so to me its the best ever. The NES may have been where alot of the classics started, but the SNES is where they reached their peak. Super Metroid, Super Mario All Stars, Link To The Past, Final Fantasy 3, ect... Then you have great original games too like Mario Kart and Chrono Trigger.

I like alot of the older systems like the Neo-Geo, Saturn, PC Engine, and Dreamcast. But the SNES was hands down Nintendo's best system, and had the best ratio of good games and variety out of every console.

I would have to say that the SNES is indeed the best system that has ever graced home consoles.
The Gamecube is in a close second, but nothing can match up to the almighty SNES.
Future generations will probably still be playing the SNES, even when it has been outdated for many many many years.

SNES is one of my fav systems for sure, right up there with Neo-Geo, Dreamcast, and Saturn.

Hey, don't forget the PC-Engine.

I think the SFC/SNES was a fairly good system (despite being underpowered and having the most rigid programming architecture of the primary 16 bit systems). However, the Mega Drive and the PC-Engine totally destroyed the SFC when it came to shmups.

So I would rank the SFC somewhere in the middle. I really don't play it much, but it had its quality titles.
