The Legend of Zelda: SPIRIT TRACKS for DS!

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
YES! Zelda Returns, but this new game is a bit odd. A new cel-shaded adventure, that is a build-up on Phantom Hourglass

Link has the ability to control/create enemies and them fight enemies. Railroad mechanics is an extension of Phantom Hourglass boat system- Riding a rail and shooting cannons.

Yes, it does have the dungeon goodness we all love too!

See the game in action!

Am I the only not that excited? I know, I know, I hate to be a debby downer, but I am really starting to want just a "regular" Zelda game like Link to The Past or OOT, minus the gimmicks. So I guess Link has turned in his shield and horse and decided to work for....the railroad? It could be good, though, so I will try to remain optimistic :)

well X2, I thought the same thing, until I saw the video in action. I'd call this "Wind Waker" without a boat with a goat...but a train in the rain...Oh crap, did Dr. Suess and Miyamoto knew each other? :lol

Yea, I mean it could be cool if you can take the train really far distances, but if it's just used to get from point A to point B I'd rather just use the horse! Well I guess on the positive side we're back to solid ground! :D

to be honest, every time they show these new gimmicks i feel like "WTH? THIS DOESN'T FIT WITH THE ZELDA WORLD" but then nintendo finds a way to make it all work together in the end to make an awesome game.... if this is anything like phantom hourglass then i believe this might be another great game

That is so true. Though I've been thinking I'm going to miss the wide open feeling that sailing around gave me when I played. Can't have that feeling when you're on a track. But then again like you said, they just might surprise us.

but what if you could trace the tracks as you could trace the sailing route? would that make it similar?

I really liked Phantom Hourglass. More than I liked Twilight Princess. I felt like PH used the DS's features better than TP used the Wii's features. So I imagine this Zelda will also be pretty good with using the DS features.

Yeah that would be fun! I guess if we are the ones laying track that could be cool.
