RUMOR: New Wii Zelda to be SEQUEL to Majora's Mask!?

Let's get this straight: There are rumors about video games, and then there are crazy internet rumors about video games that are so intriguing you can't help but get excited about them, even though you don't believe they're anything more than products of an overactive fan imagination. This post is about the second kind.

Well, that about sums it up. :lol

Is Majora's Mask a direct sequel to OoT?

The Zelda lore is so messed up. I think I remember reading that none are actually sequels to eachother, as they all take place in different times? I don't know Zelda though. One of the most boring series for me.

Majora's Mask IS a direct sequel of ocarina of time (meaning OOT link = MM Link) usually no zelda game is related to another unless Nintendo specifies it (example: phantom hourglass is a direct sequel of Wind waker therefore they both have the same link)

well i guess the Zelda series is not amazing for everyone but you should already know you are in the minority XD

Boring!? Blasphemy! The Zelda series IS the single greatest series in all of gaming history! Hehe. Nah it's all good, to each their own of course. And yes it's true that most of the games are not sequels, but the cool thing is that there is always something familiar in the games like Hyrule field, certain characters, enemies, etc,. So in a way they do all tie in to each other.

PS. Good points about the sequels Zi, I did forget MM was a direct sequel to OOT. But I am confused about what you would call WW since it takes place 100 years after the events of OOT? Would that not be a direct sequel even though it is different links?

Oh I know. I've tried playing OoT several times. I just can't pull myself through the first couple hours. A game shouldn't be a chore to me. :lol

The Zelda timeline is one of the things that I like most about it. It's not a traditional series where every sequel occurs after the previous entry.

But, lately the gameplay has been pretty boring, they topped out on OoT and almost got there with Wind Waker. TP was definitely a chore.

For me, OOT and MM were the best Zelda games ever made. WW is a fantastic game, but does not compare to either of those. Never played TP but I do not like a lot of the things I hear about it. I also have not played many of the handheld Zeldas which are widely praised. I only played Minish Cap and I really loved it. I really hope this new Zelda just goes back to the roots of what made earlier Zelda games amazing.

while i say that recent zelda games (the DS ones) are not like the older ones. I do enjoy Spirit tracks and Phantom Hourglass a lot because they bring something new to the series, while i didn't like that TP tried to emulate OOT i did also enjoy that game a whole lot (but its not really on my favorites list).

I guess what i am trying to say is.... that although newer Zelda games cannot compare to OOT (or in my case MM since that was the first 3D one i played and imo it is superior than OOT) that's ok since i don't want and i don't think that game can be topped

Oh yea same for me, nothing will ever top OOT. I just meant that I thought WW was lacking a bit compared to the quality of those 2 games. It's still an amazing game and I love it, but I felt a little bit let down. Mainly because I wanted it to be longer and have bigger/better dungeons like in OOT/MM. But overall those are pretty small complaints and I did not mind many of the other things people complained about such as the sailing and graphics {in fact I freaking loved the graphics}.

I Agree....but I really liked Majora's Mask though. So....I assume this announcement is more like good news to me? :lol

I like the idea of it being a sequel, but I never did finish MM so I'm not sure I'll enjoy it. I could never get used to the time passage thing when it came to the dungeons. I just wasn't fast enough.
