I guess I do. I look at the 360 and see good graphics, but I have not been satisfied with the games. I contemplated getting one....

#2 Free online .... the dS is pretty successful with it's online play... and I think the rev will be too. Crap... you cannot go wrong with free online play. keep all the gimmicks that make people think they are getting something on a "pay to play" basis..... Just give me a straight up online game... and there we go. that's how the PC does it.. and it's great.

The rev controller... lets not knock it till we try it... there have been enough people that tried it and said they loved it.... so we'll have to see... they also have the GC controller shell... so maybe that will be optional for cube games.

SSBM online.... I don't care who has been waiting for it and has gone away from the idea.... they would be all over it if it was released today. WHO WOULDN'T want an online Super Smash Brothers Melee? That game is loved by everyone across all consoles.... and that is not an overstatement. SSBM (in my collection) STILL gets a lot of play even today.

For Nintendo to release a SSB online game, they would need to add some more characters and make it worth buying again. I doubt people who already have SSB would buy another one just for online purposes.

Ya, they would. :lol

The only way I could see an online SSB game not selling well would be if they change it to "utilize" the revolution controller and thus lose the feel of Melee. It's a cash cow no matter what they do with it, but in my opinion this would be one game that would benefit from simply being re-released.

So you like lag? You like it when everyone you play against "pwns" you like a "n00b?" Because I'm gonna be honest, there's nothing more frustrating than playing a game you love online, and getting totally schooled by some 9 year old. It is even more frustrating if you are better than the 9 year old, but due to a lousy connection you can't react fast enough, and thus get "owned."

Because an alternative to this frustration exists, it's called Xbox Live, and it costs less than $5 a month. However, I will concede that the DS wifi seems to be a really good free online service, so Nintendo might actually pull off a competitive online service with no additional fees. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I'm sorry, but I'd only see morons buying the same game again with only the addition of online play. That's so stupid. :lol

Lag?  I have only noticed lag on 2 occassions during tetris.  Sometimes other players lag here and there... but that is typical of online play (ALL online play).  I've never ever experienced lag myself.  Only other people that lagged... and it didn't bog down any games.  I've played well over 1000 online matches/coop on the ds via wifi with 4 different games. When more come out, I'll play those as well :) There SUPPOSIVELY 1+ million players to Nintendo's wifi service now as well.

Xbox Live, from what I've heard... has more lag :lol :D

I agree with BV about how it's not going to be about the graphics anymore simply because most of the hardware for the new generation games are already great. Even some PS2 and xbox games look awsome right now. My point is that as long as the gameplay is there graphics won't mean a thing because we already know that a game can look good. We already know that we have the hardware to pull awsome graphics off, all that is needed is the fun factor. It has come to the point in this new generation that gameplay is going to be the deciding factor, because theses two new consoles can pull off HD. The games are going to look good. It's up to the developers to utilize it for gameplay.
see... and that's my point.  graphics don't phase me like they used to.  My buddies and I used to be about the graphics AS WELL AS the gameplay.  But ... when I see good graphic games... I don't care so much...  I care about how the controls are, how the fluid motion is..etc.  Look where we are at now.... look how much more (in graphics) it is going to take to impress people over the Xbox 360.  Gameplay... it never fails to impress when it's done right, and that's what draws you into the game. Good graphics don't hurt... it's a plus... but people aren't as impressed anymore.

guitarwizard....in my post, it means that they would have to do something different. The last sentence is saying I don't think people would buy the same SSB with just online ability. Then after, you said they absolutely would. Maybe I didn't clarify it enough. My bad.

I got it..However I am sure many many people would buy a remake of melee just for online play...also I think the next SSB will have new characters,options,stages,moves...etc etc

Seriously man, graphics are important to me, and everyone else I know (except the people from here, of course). So when you say "people aren't as impressed anymore," you really mean you aren't as impressed anymore, along with some others you know.

True, but having played on Sony's online network (practically unregulated and unmonitored, anyone with any connection can play) I can honestly say that the Xbox Live service truly is worth the money.

And whoever told you that Xbox Live has more lag is a liar, a dirty rotten liar. :lol

True dat!

Graphics are important to me too...maybe in a different way. The scale of what's going on is what impresses me. Like, you could have a game with utterly amazing graphics for its time, but features few characters on screen at one time and is full of dark cramped corridors (Doom 3 for example :p). I'm more impressed by the game which has lots of stuff going on with a rock solid framerate that has good graphics. Call of Duty 2 comes to mind here. Graphically not the best, but far from the worst, game. But there is so much going on around you, and the frame rate (360 version here) still rocks.

no they are not :) it's not just one person I've heard it from... It's been many. If it was only 1, I wouldn't have even bothered saying anything.

I don't think anyone on DS online playing with less than Broadband. I'm sure it's possible... somehow, but I've only had 1-2 slow matches... that was in tetris. Lets just say my tetris wins are above 250.... and I've easily play 350+ matches in that game alone.

fun stuff though :)

Xbox Live has nowhere near the lag I've come across in PC games. Don't know what those Microsoft haters (j/k) are telling you...

Maybe they have bad connections? Because on my fairly standard Verizon DSL I get no lag what-so-ever.

I totally agree. When I play games I try to lose myself in the experience as much as I can, especially in shooters/flying games/hack'n'slash/etc. The more engrossing the overall experience is the better.

The information that is needed to be sent from one DS to another via internet connection for a game like Tetris is considerably less than for a game like Halo 2. Correct if I am wrong (as I am dangerously out of my element here) but wouldn't a game as simple as Tetris experience much less lag than a FPS, regardless of the network its played over?

Yes it shouid have less lag and from what BV is saying it does. It depends on how much information is being sent and being recieved. So we have to wait for Nintendo to roll out a game that is as complex as Halo in order to see how it withstands all the information. It might have bad lag, it might not.
