Well, I used to hate Coheed. Until I saw them live in September of last year.

Probably one of the better bands I've seen live.

It might have been enhanced considering I was hanging out with british guys higher than a 747 at max altitude. It was great :)

At least you guys have good taste in music =\

LOL @ HINES

I heard that song four days after that :)

eh, i have to say, if he screams, then theres a lot of other singers out there that do the same exact thing

main reason i hate metal, its all the same

Ooh, I know you didn't just say that. If there is any genre that has many distinct sounds it's metal. But since you hate it you won't go out of your way to find any of it. If you don't like it, cool, but it's all not the same.

actually, i enjoy opeth and the really heavy stuff like that

but all these newer bands, like chiodos, red jumpsuit aparatus, sound of animals fighting, and circa survive

all that high pitched and screaming is terrible

and all sounds the same

Ok in that case yes. I don't like those vocals as well. Opeth is definitely awesome. Carry on...

Ever tried listening to something other than the singing? There are some really amazing bands which some amazing instrumentation if you actually listen to them. You also start to tell the difference between screaming, and growing/screeching which is what you actually hear in metal. There's quite a few different variations of that too.

And what makes Dragonforce not power metal? That would be a new one on me.

That's what I thought. I must be having them confused with another band then.
