Personally, I think the PS2 controller shouldn't be changed at all. It's just as comfortable as the 360 and way more comfortable than the Xbox. The PS3 isn't necessarily overpriced, but it is too expensive (overpriced is inaccurate because the PS3 is a good value for the Blu-Ray player and everything, but $600 is still a little too expensive). As for a small fanbase, 120 million PS2 owners is really small. :
I'm not a PS3 fanboy (I have a 360 for gods sake) but I just think everyone is counting the PS3 out way too quickly and being far too critical of it. IF people would give the system a chance to grow and get some more good games, they would find that the PS3 could end up being a successful and good system.

He's talking about the PS3 fanbase, not the PS2. Comparing sales, most people have left Sony now. Counting the PS3 out is good, maybe if they removed Blu Ray, did a game recall, made the games playable without Blu Ray, then the price would drop to $300-$400, it would be easier to develop for it, and it would get sales.

Your crystal ball told you? If the PS3 is overpriced to you, it doesn't mean it's overpriced for everyone. Is it overpriced to me?? Right now, yes. And in saying small fanbase, you interviewed every gamer on thsi one? Doubtful. But if indeed it's small, then I say give it time. No good games would mean that every single game got bad reviews. And that's obviously not so. I have a stack of gaming magazines that would agree with me. Unless you want to say that the reviewers were paid off. But I'd say that's stretching it. And as for their controllers, I am going out on a limb and say that's a personal opinion, and not solid concrete fact. Because I love the Sony controllers. They are easy to use and are generally comfortable to me.
Bottom line is Sony, like every other company out there, can make some people happy some of the time, but they still can't make everybody happy all of the time.

i hate causing trouble like this! first off, im not a 360 fanboy... it simply has the best games so far. i would respect sony more, and i dont just hate them for the ps3 price. they are inconsiderate and difficult about everything. buy a sony camera? have to buy a special memory stick to go with it. wanna watch your movies on psp? go buy them. wanna play decent games but cant afford an hdtv? to bad, so sad.

Probably no one would, well at least the video game business. Not the normal stuff, they should keep up with that.

the meaning of my post was to say that sony is comepletely selfish. they make you uby a whole new memory stick pro duo, instead of just using an sd card. they make you pay a lot for low quality UMD movies that should be $10 a piece! they assume that EVERYONE owns an hdtv, and that if you dont your rapidly behind the times.

What you odn't seem to get is that you are behind the times if you don't. Most people can't keep up with technology, but most companies expect them to. Don't single Sony out.

People love the underdog, but you can't tell me how (and this is my argument)....RIGHT NOW....with the games it has out RIGHT NOW...what do you think of the PS3? Not "oh the 360 didn't have anything when it started wah wah"...that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking right now, what do you think of the PS3. As for the future, there's some great games coming out that should definitely boost sales.

Now with that said, it's obvious to draw comparisons between the other consoles that are out right now. Because without those comparisons, asking for one's thoughts on the PS3 is almost like a loaded question and it wouldn't be fair.
@ Hines, I can see your case on the whole HDTV argument. But I am willing to bet that within the net few years, HDTV will be the norm. But if one doesn't have the "recommended" TV, it's not the end of the world.
As for the camera argument. Not there. Things like a camera and whatnot on a gaming are what we would call "options." And if something is an option, there should be a charge for that because there are many gamers out there who could care less if you could store pics on the PS3.
And Sony doesn't suck. It's an opinion that you cannot ever prove.
