I'm going to try not to sound biased in this, but...
Smash Bros. Brawl
Shaping up to have a great single player
Amazing five+ year long multiplayer like Melee
Halo 3
Average/just below average single player
Amazing five+ year multiplayer like Halo 2
But Halo 3 has hype, so it might win GOTY just for the word Halo in its name.

That was a little too biased though...you haven't played either's single player...and we know how you feel about Halo in general. I think Halo 3 will end up having the better single player. Being able to play through single player with 3 of your friends is incredible. Finding skulls to help make it harder adds another level of fun to the mix. Also, SSBB's single player will maybe be 20 minutes long...if that...just like SSBM. That's just my opinion though.

It's way better than Melee's, they've been saying they've been working on it much harder than normal. And yes, I have played through Halo 3's single player.

well if the single player in super smash bros brawl is longer and better than halo 3 then it's officially the game of the year.
in the competition on IGN samus won over master chief :lol, and i'm still playing metroid i'm playing on hypermode and i'm still looking for someone to trade vouchers (i need a lot and i have a lot). how can metroid be the best FPS ever? is not even an FPS is an FPA (first person adventure), what metroid has though is the best controls on an shooter game ever.
also the single player on super smash looks really good and in the last update they said that playing on a higher difficulty will give you some rewards, also there's some replay value on the game (you know at the beginnig you have to choose wich princess you're gonna save ) so it might end up being better than halo's single player (that's just my opinion though)

As for Smash's single player, I doubt it will be very long. You'll be playing through it many many times with different characters and difficulty levels, but I can't see it being like 8 hours long.
Uh, no. Plenty of people (myself included) are still playing though MP 3 and loving it. Really though, to compare Metroid Prime to other FPS's just doesn't work...They're really different games.Strubes said:

I'm not saying that amount of time won't be spent on the Single player. I expect to spend more than 8 hours on it, but each individual play through will be pretty short.fhqwhgads said:

The events were good, though some were just plain annoying, like how early Dark Link was, and it was pretty hard that early.

Yeah, that one was hard too. And the one where you had to kill Bowser. I'd do great at it, totally dominating, and take Bowser down, but while he flew off screen, Falcon would just hit him real quick and get the kill.
