Official Halo 3 General Discussion

I finally managed to pick up the new Halo book, Contact Harvest. It's actually by one of the Bungie writers, Joseph Stanton, and it's a pre-Halo setting, with the main character being Avery Johnson. It's REALLY awesome. ^_^

I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the other Halo books. :)
 
I just ordered it yesterday from Amazon cause stores around here don't ever carry any books like that... :( I can't wait til it gets here, its estimated arrival is Friday, just in time for my birthday! :D
 
You're in for a treat. I just finished it, and I loved it. It explains a lot.

The history of Truth makes me appreciate his death in Halo 3 even more.
 
I did surprisingly well on Heroic in Cortana. I only died once, from a total fluke. Of course, had to shut it off, so I won't get the Heroic insignia when I beat it. Speaking of, if I beat all but one mission on Heroic and get the insignia put on them, if I beat the last in Legendary, will I get Heroic Complete?
 
Nope, but if you go through and beat all of the levels on legendary before you do heroic, you get the heroic achievement and the legendary achievement at the same time. I just went for legendary, I didn't bother with Heroic.
 
Yeah, I beat it on Normal and then Legendary.

I'm considering replaying through the campaign for Halo and Halo 2 just for a refresher on the games' stories. ^_^

Well, I'm not that good. Gawd. Least I've beaten Arrival on Legendary...sucks that it's just the cutscene, I hoped it was at least some of the level.
 
Last night I played a little Halo 2. Man, it felt really weird! :lol I had to redownload Tombstone and Desolation, so that was a pain in the butt. Then I went into a ranked Team Slayer match on Lockout and my team won, but mostly because it started out 3v3 and two people on the other team quit. I went up to rank 2. :lol

On a related note, when did they reset Halo 2 rankings again? And wasn't Rumble Pit ranked before? I swear I got to rank 6 in something not that long ago and now it's not there anymore. :-\
 
I wonder how long before they reset Halo 3's rankings? I hate to think about all the hard work I have put in going to waste. Last night I played so many Lone Wolves trying to go from 19 to 20, but still didn't get there yet.

I might have had better luck if not for Swords.

Swords in Halo 3 = SUCK. I hate the whole parry stuff. Whoever came up with that idea should be fired. IMO, of course.
 
I had two swords matches back to back last night. On Epitaph I didn't do very well because of all the stupid shield doors.

But the second match was on the Pit and I ended up coming in second, so I guess with more practice I might even like swords again.

I made myself a new icon in Halo 3. It's the sticky grenade one in honor of how awesome I am at sticking people (707 sticks in 464 ranked matches which is 1.5 sticks per game).

At church? Even with the religious preachings of the Covenant and the M rating, the church allowed it?

EDIT: And Guitar Hero is full of the devil's music!
