Official Halo 3 General Discussion

Yeah, wired is better. I would have mine wired but my room is too far from the modem so I had to set up a wireless network. If I ever want to wire it I'm going to have to run cable through half the house.

I cant go wireless. Everytime I try the adapter gets eaten by the compy or 360

Meh, you don't suck. Your issue is that you barely played halo 2 (325 games??? O___O) and your facing people (like my patheticly small 2600 games) that have played halo 2 constantly day in and day out.

My Halo 2 K/D ratio is HORRID (0.69 anyone? wow what a coincidence) compared to my H3 cause I was only just starting out then. You'll eventually learn from your mistakes, learn from people that are better than you, and you just won't die as much. You know most of the people you just can't seem to kill? Yeah, they're not lucky, they just move the right way and most of the time they don't even know how they live.

My ranked K/D is 1.08 and my social K/D is 1.06 but I also gotta metion that I've played twice the amount of ranked games (127) than social matches (71).

Yeah I watch a lot of videos to see how people play. I got frustrated one day while playing against Joyling because she kept sticking me, so I watched the match and saw where she was getting the plasma grenades on certain maps, and I incorporated them into my strategy. If you look at my stats I have a crazy amount of sticks since then. ^_^

Bleh, trying and failing to beat the...first? level on Heroic. I suck that much. I do great, it's the point where I have to find Johnson's crashed Pelican, but I always end up getting sniped after a Brute knocks out my shield or something.

If you're by yourself, you're probably rushing in way too fast... Honestly, it took me like an hour and a half - two hours to do that level on legendary by myself. You really gotta take that part one kill at a time.

Today I played the Ark and the Covenant on Normal so that I could get the Marathon Man achievement. It was fun because those are two of my favorite levels, and not only did I get that achievement, but I also managed to finally get the Used Car Salesman achievement and the Too Close to the Sun achievement while I was at it.

The terminal stuff is actually really interesting, btw.

Also, I tried really hard to get the Cowbell skull but I couldn't do it. I even tried using a Brute Shot to propel myself (I saw someone do it that way on youtube) but I guess I don't have the right timing for that. Anyone have any tips on how to get that skull? It's the last one I need.

Oh, jeez, god no, I'm not rushing. I go past the Arbiter, shoot the one Grunt that sees me, stick the Brute that comes around the corner, which kills the Brute and the Grunts around him, then keep going.

The battle rifle is your friend in the campaign mode. It's pretty common and because of its scope you can use it at both close and far range. Halo 3's campaign is the reason I am better with the battle rifle (I hated it in Halo 2). Remember, even if the reticule isn't red, it doesn't always mean your bullets aren't reaching the enemy. Same thing with the carbine. Also, most grunts you can kill with melee attacks, so do that when you can and save your ammo for the Brutes. :)

Mm, yup, that's what I try to do. Unfortunately, I usually end up blowing through my Battle Rifle ammo taking out one or two of those Jackals on the other side of the river, assuming I can find a Battle Rifle. I was playing Halo 1 again, and I was just burning through ammo, so I started to melee whenever it was better, even when I had to rush the enemy. And the Carbine is too weak to be very practical.

i made my parents let me move down to were the modem is :D

...I am so pissed, but laughing so much right now. I just went through the first part of finding Johnson, total owning all the Jackals(with a Carbine >_>), taking out Grunts and Brutes, and all that good stuff. It goes on forever, I must have taken out at least 20 guys. I'm hoping for a checkpoint soon, as the snipers are dead, and there's minimal resistance, so I keep moving a bit. A few Grunts and a Brute pop out, I say some vulgar language, I back up while whipping every grenade I have. A sniper shot goes past me, I whip around, quickly aim at the Jackal, take one shot, he drops. Then I hear a boom, and the camera goes first person. I got grenaded from behind. I was behind a rock taking cover and they whipped it right over. Ugh. So then I was kinda annoyed. So I get to the last checkpoint(having to kill the guys again), go back a bit, grab the Bubble Shield, run into the canyon, whip it down, look forward, and just run. I keep running, no shots are being fired. All of a sudden...

Checkpoint reached.

Did you know the Terminals say different things depending on which difficulty you are playing on? That's pretty interesting. Now I'm going to have to access them on Heroic and Legendary and get the full story.

Also...where's the 8th terminal? Anyone know?

Is the 8th one the one in the Flood ship that doesn't actually look like a terminal?

Are you guys serious? Halo 3 carbine IMO is 10000 times better than the Battle Rife. I have been killed sooo fast with Carbines it's not even funny.

@FHQ's longass story

Wow man, :lol that's great.

Yeah, headshotting Jackals is like instant death. And now my ass is being handed to me at the base part.
