just dont call it sub par, and respect it for the great series that it is.

Halo 3 Review

If you've played the Halo games, you'll know what to expect from the long- awaited sequel. This very much desired video game was released only 2 days ago and it is already a blockbuster. But how good is it? This is where I come in. ;)

Graphics:
Pretty good for a Xbox360 but not meant to be compared with other titles. It basicially looks like an enhanced version of Halo 2. It's still amazing and a dazzling sight to see Master Chief on the 360's good graphics. Some parts stand out while most do not unfortunatly.
Rating: 9/10

Gameplay:
Perfect. The buttons are suited well for the 360, just like how the Xbox had setted the controls. This was a game that was easy to control unlike some of the other releases. Very easy. The learning curve takes about 30 minutes. :) All new weapons will have you shooting down more Covenant with joy.
Rating:10/10

Story:
The story has advanced if you compared it to Halo 2. Compare the endings and you'll probably get better reception on Halo 3's. I personally love both but Halo 3 had made it better in every possible way.

Multiplayer:
Only one word can describe this. Amazing. With new weapons,vehicles, and new maps, this is addicting.Forge is great to play on. The elephant will be massive as promised. But, you might want to lower the headsets from the constant yelling and excitement from the game on Live. Either way, a must try with a friends.

Even with it's short campaigan, you'll be coming back for more. Replay value is very high. ;)
 
it is possible to hate halo, however very few people hate it. before playing a halo game i thought it was a fad, after playing it i say it does live up to the hype, it is no different than other FPS you are right, but it is better than some of them

When have I bashed it Hines? I even said in my post that I don't mind it, I just don't see why so many people get in fights, arguments, etc. over a game. A freakin' game. A game that's mediocre, IMO. IMO IMO IMO IMO. Now if that's bashing to you, than you need forum lessons.

And that post wasn't directly aimed at you, it was aimed towards all the Halo people who feel the need to say that we're just acting cool by saying it's not that great. Well it's not. We have valid reasons for not caring for Halo that much, and I'd be happy to list them for you.

We don't like the campaign. It's boring, it's slow paced, hoo rah. Nothing great, IMO.
We don't particularly care for the multiplayer either. Yeah, it's great. You shoot people as you do in every other FPS. Mediocre, IMO.
We just don't like the overall gameplay. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves. You should just respect the fact that we don't care for it. We respect that you like it, that's great. Don't go startin' crap about how we're just "acting cool", and it's a fad. That's the epitomy of ignorance and fanboyism.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Why is it necessary for everybody with a 360 to worship and commit their life to Halo 3? Do you think that it's not possible for people to not like Halo? Well, I've got a hell of a newsflash for you, it is possible. Enough is enough. You people act as though we, the people who don't say everything positive about Halo, are blasphemers. We're going to burn in the fiery pits of hell if we don't conform to your ridiculous, crooked, feculent, idiosynchratic, religion of Haloism. I don't particularly care for Halo, and I never will. I don't mind it, I just think it's a mediocre Sci-Fi shooter that doesn't set itself apart much from most FPS except for it's highly exceptional and addicting multiplayer. Excuse me for being a blasphemer, but Halo's light of divinity just doesn't shine brightly on my taste in videogames. File a lawsuit against me, go ahead. Just remember, Master Chief isn't an attorney.

And also, we don't hate it. Jack has told me that he would buy Halo 3 if he had a 360, and I plan to get it. We just don't follow Haloism. That would be a violation of the Flying Spaghetti Monster religion. :lol
 
Halo is over-hypes but still a very fun game. I prefer more strategic shooters like ghost recon which i think is leaps above halo. But if run n guns are yur thing... nothing compares
 
You know in all honesty I think playing co-op takes away some of the impact from the game. I'm going through a part that I missed in campaign on Normal by myself and wow it's almost a different game. I can't just run in guns blazing. Like I swear I took almost an hour on just one part because I had to be REALLY strategic.

As I recall it was something like this: Take out the guys on the Chopper with some really well tossed grenades; maneuver the Warthog so that I can hop on the turret and fire at the other Chopper without the Wraith killing me; hop on the Ghost and take out the Shade and then boost and run away to get my shield back up; come back and boost straight towards the Wraith, hop out of the Ghost and grenade the Wraith; run around the corner and up the ramp, grab the carbine, take out a brute with a headshot, etc. Sometimes it's frustrating but when you finally get past the hard parts it's really satisfying.

That being said, I refuse to do any parts involving The Flood by myself. That is way too much of a PITA. :lol

How can the overall game get a 10 when its 7, 10, 10, 10, 10?

It should be docked some points for the 7.

EDIT: Also if I get it Saturday Ill give a review on it.

I don't know what's funnier. The people who flip out when people dislike halo....or the people who get offended when others get offended by their opinion on halo. :lol

With that being said, I haven't had time to complete this game yet, after pulling back to back 12 hour shifts at work, but I will beat it soon. :)
