Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of. I hope it will be jump-in anytime co-op like Gears of War.

Honestly I don't mind not being Master Chief. :)

Like every other aspect of Halo 3, this mode is chosen from a Lobby. Simply select Campaign, choose your network (Xbox Live or System Link) and invite your friends to join you, or they can simply join your session once it’s set up and in a lobby (but they cannot join a game once it’s in-progress). They will pop into your lobby instantly, and when you have all the players you need (anywhere from one to four) you can begin the game from the beginning – or from any of your saved checkpoints.

Nope, you can't just pop in. Sucks, but the fact 4 player online co-op is in is good enough for me. I do like the fact you can save co-op progress or start from checkpoints (something Halo 1 and 2 both lacked, meaning you always had to beat a level in one sitting or start over.

I like the full integration into the multiplayer menus. Halo 2, love it or hate it, still has the best menu system of any online console game. Being able to switch between matchmaking, (splitscreen) co-op, and custom games without ever having to remake and lose the group you are playing with was so nice.

Oh man...amazing find Mai! I'm so excited...I'm gonna go watch 300, then dream about 4-player coop. :D

I'll be busy playing it with my real life friends at first, but we will absolutely have to play together.

I do like how you can even have splitscreen guests in the game.

Yeah that's awesome...the first day it comes out...I'm beating it with a friend of mine...we're getting a case of Monster, then playing online multiplayer for about 6 hours...then start on campaign. :D

Well, since I have the obstacle of school, I probably can't marathon it that day. I may take that Friday off from school and co-op it up with 3 of my buddies.

My mom is cool with that too, that's the best part. As long as I'm honest about it and don't do it too often (once a month tops) she lets me stay home and indulge my gaming desires.

Yeah, four player online co-op is enough. :)

I feel kinda sorry for Bungie. They probably wanted to keep it as a surprise, but because of EGM they had to come out and announce it or face a huge backlash.

OMG! this makes halo 3 seem so much better to me i cant to play with all my firends, i mean 3 of my friends on xbox live. WOOT!

The books are canon. Bungie has reserved the right to override the books where they see fit, but AFAIK they haven't done that yet.

Ok, so right now, I'm thinking Me, Mai, and Spartan....we need one more and we can do 4 player online coop. :D

So i cracked i purchased an 360. ^_^ I'll definitely be up for some co-op!

Well, due to the awesomeness, we could just play the three of us (Mai, Strubes, and myself). But a fourth is welcome :)
