No more heroes.

She said she played it at a friend's house, and she thought it was worth $50. You don't have to buy something to decide if it's worth its price.

@GM,
I really liked the part where you have to hold up your Wiimote to your ear as if it were a cellphone. Ha ha the chick said some hilarious stuff in that part. I laughed when she said something about his mother being ugly.
Yeah, that was too funny. XD

$50 for a game like this heck yeah XD people stop whinning about prices....because this one is a bomb

Yeah, I definitely think No More Heroes is worth $50. The combat is just so much fun. Talk about slice and dice!

I'm the #9 ranked assassin now. ^_^ The second boss was fun to fight.

Wasn't he just weird or what? XD

Yeah, but they're all weird. :lol

I love the whole slot wheel thing, though. I got to do some really b.a. stuff during that mission.

No More Heroes got really good reception from everywhere in the US except Game Informer, who kept focusing on the controversial things.

Here's my mini-review that I posted on MySpace and LJ, based on what I've played so far.

If you have a Wii, you should try No More Heroes.

It's very violent and bloody, kind of like Ninja Gaiden. In other words, the combat is very satisfying. You go up against a bunch of people and slice them up with your beam katana.

It's sort of cel-shaded, so it's almost like you're playing an anime.

The side missions you do to make money for the main missions are kind of cheesy; I had to collect coconuts for some guy. But sometimes you can make money by doing non-plotline assassinations, and those are fun.

Oh, and the motion controls are very well done. Probably one of the best I've played on the Wii. You use the Wiimote and the nunchuk, but most of the combat is with the Wiimote. You hit A to attack, and you can tilt the Wiimote up or down for a high or low attack; hold down A for a charge attack; or try to stun your enemies with B. If you stun them, you can either hit them for easy damage or hit B again to do a throw, and the throw will be some combination of movement with the controllers; like you have to move the nunchuk up and the Wiimote sideways. When you're just attacking with A, after you get a few hits in and the enemy is close to death, you can do a special attack by swinging the Wiimote in the direction an arrow that pops up indicates. It might sound complicated, but it's actually quite intuitive once you are playing.

Yay! I finished the game already but this is a game that I think I'd keep playing just for some good old laughing and violence. :lol

how long is it ??? i don't think i'll be able to buy it anytime soon >_> and renting it it's.....tempting

There's various difficulty levels. I'm not sure if there are any significant changes between them, but it might be enough to give it replayability.

It's seriously a nice change of pace from everything else I've been playing, though.

Edited to add:
She was tough! She killed me twice before I managed to beat her.
It was really awesome.

<3 this game!

Yay! I have someone to talk to about this game. =3

I hated her. XD She took me about 4 or 5. Why? I kept goofing off. XD

So GM, which difficulty did you play it on? I am playing on Sweet, which I guess is the easiest, but I wanted to get a feel for it first. I will probably play it on a harder difficulty with my next playthrough.

Also, when is the best time to upgrade the beam katana?

:lol

Well I was fighting the #7 boss, and he beat me, so I thought I would upgrade my katana. The problem is that the only upgrade available is about $980,000, and I'm barely into six digits right now. But it was also late and I only tried that fight once, so I suppose I could possibly beat him without upgrading.

I am however going to take another visit to Thunder Ryu and do some of the weight training stuff to max out Travis' vitality.
