... Nintendo Revolution.... is Nintendo "Wii"

If I came off as antagonistic, I apologize. I guess I am tired of the argument of "I had such-and-such product, and it went bad. So that means the whole company is full of bad apples." I work in the retail market and hear this time and time again. People debasing a product because of one bad experience. If my PS2 went belly up tomorrow, I won't go out and say "Sony sucks because my PS2 died." because that is an argument that is totally without logic.

As for being skeptical about the "Revolution/Wii" because of the Game Cube's game library, I will take the position that such skepticism is lacking in merrit. Mainly because we simply don't know what the library will be like except that it will be backwards compatible. I will say, and history supports this no matter what console is in question, that at first launch there won't be a huge game selection. Big deal. But also one up side is that with a simple hardware setup, developers won't shy away from designing games for it.

I will also say that I do not in any way like the new name.

As for Neph. I will agree to disagree with you. But also understand that if you want your opinions respected, then you must respect the opinions of others. And I will draw the line on personal attacks...

Maybe the name will grow on you....after a while.Wii is the sound young humans make when having fun...in fiction.

Heh, maybe.

But I can see it now. Two guys talking about games. "What consoles do you have??" "I got a Wii." "Really?? The restrooms are over there."

Buh-dum-bump. :D

I was reading the latest Game Informer with Red Steel on the cover and they had an interview with someone from Nintendo (the name escapes me at the moment) and they too know that the GC lacked third party support. They admit that it was a big part of their downfall, so with the revolution/wii they will try to get more third party support.

Im not sure if it will actually happen but it sheds some hope on their next gen console. Not to mention that after reading their in depth preview of Red Steel (They even got to play it) I say it could be a very interesting game. I look forward to the Revolution more each day.

I have a burning question. How did Neph get a "Goody-Goody" subtitle? It's not very apt. Is that someone's idea of a joke? (looks at BV)

Burning question aside, I do agree that the Gamecube lacked a great library. It only had a few great rpgs and there was a severe lack of good FPS (was there even a good fps?) The Gamecube was not a system that even a Nintendo fan such as myself could be happy with alone. The Gamecube was an "and" system:

I have a PS2 and a Gamecube.
or
I have an XBOX and a Gamecube.
or
I have a PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube.

I see the same thing happening with the Wii, but honestly I don't see that as a bad thing. Variety is the spice of life, as the saying goes, and I believe that to be true for games. My favorite games are rpgs and I could play them forever, but sometimes it's nice to just pick up the controller and play a fighter like DOA4, or to pick up a controller for an action/adventure game like Tomb Raider or Legend of Zelda.

1st off... how is the name not apt? :lol  that's like the one single phrase from Puyo Pop that has forever been burned in my mind. It's not a joke... that wouldn't be a funny joke anyway.

2nd off.... I guess I can agree with mai there...
PC AND GAMECUBE.  But I've been content with the Games on the Gamecube.

Neph... we all like more than 1 system... I have quite a few I play.

She's always liked other systems, as do everyone else (though i'm not sure if BV likes any non-Nintendo systems not counting the PC). Matter of fact, with the exception of the occasional game of old school Mega-Man, i've only been playing PS2 this year, as it's still coming out with the good games (Dragon Quest VIII, Guitar Hero, ect).

I bet your whole World's just caved in on itself now. :lol

As for Mai - OMG! You said you liked another system other than Nintendo! You're TOTALLY telling people they HAVE to like Sony!

:lol

They say sarcasm is the lowest form of humor, but I highly disagree.

I thought we were all only allowed to like Nintendo?
it's a title... when you reach the next one, it will change.

as for liking Nintendo only :lol :lol I don't think 1 person here only likes Nintendo.... Not sure where you got that idea... :huh I mean.. we have a lot of Nintendo supporters here... but most support other systems or the PC as well. and honestly, if someone only liked Nintendo... em... who cares? maybe that's what they like... same thing with the Xbox... some people only want that ... some people only like Ps2.

Hm... I wonder why neo geo cd.net is a part of this site :? Because I Am a big support of the Neo Geo systems :lol
I own saturn, dreamcast, turbo grafx 16 w/ cd add-on (and it can play the super cd-rom 2 games), Atari Lynx, Jaguar, Turbo Express, Neo Geo Cd, Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo MVS, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Nomad, PSP (although I don't really like the psp), and some other systems... on top of all the Nintendo systems I own.

and someone says I don't support other systems :huh
I'm not sure... I think besides Sartori... no one here owns as many systems..... or at least plays them all.

yeah... z-force does have a lot too.

and I didn't mean my above post as "bragging" rights or anything like that.... I am just saying, I own a play a lot more than just Nintendo systems.

Nah BV. It was justifiable. Someone comes in and says you only like Nintendo, and you respond.

Although I love Nintendo products, I too am not "Nintendo exclusive." I will get the Revolution (I refuse to call it a "Wii") no matter what. Mainly because I am attracted to the somewhat uniqueness. That and people who blast it make me want it too, oddly enough.

I'm pretty sure he was still being sarcastic. Geeze BV, lighten up, I'm beginning to think you're on Nintendo's payrole or something. :D

Maybe. But there is a difference between mean spirited sarcasm and joking sarcasm. And I have yet to see Neph crack a joke...

maybe I should lighten up a bit, but I don't think it was sarcastic. AND I think Nintendo owes me a pretty decent sum right now :lol

but... my point was that I like more than 1 system.

Actually to be honest, the name's starting to grow on me. It's not the greatest name but it's not that bad either. It's kinda funky. :D
