It is GREAT! playing Mario Kart is SOOO much fun! Come on guys / Gals... get yours today... (if you want, I have the Nintendo DS Mario Kart Bundles to get on a 1 day ship from me... limited edition so get them fast!)... this is a lot of fun :)

If you have it and have a friends code, post it up in the friends code topic!

I want to see Bomberman online :D I want this game soooo bad I can taste it :lol

I can't wait to get Animal crossing... if you all don't get that... prepare to get a beat down :) Once again.. you can pre-order that through me as well.

You can't beat free online play... and this is a lot of fun (except all the idiots who drop the game... ::) )

can you describe online mario kart a little more? im really interested...
basically you have up to 4 players. It connects to the best connecting people automatically. Once there.. you can pick your cars.... then everyone picks a track (if more than 1 person picks the same track, normally you play that track, if all 4 have different tracks, it chooses randomly between those 4 tracks chosen).

I haven't noticed any lag yet....

I am not sure if you can..... but I wish battlemode was available online... it seems to be only races available... but hey, I'll take what I get :lol .

Ok this will be a dumb question but what do you need to play online? I haven't looked into it.

I think I might have a DS for Xmas...it was hinted. :D

You need to have a wireless router OR the Nintendo DS USB device (you can only get it from Nintendo).
I suggest a wireless router :)

There are ways you can figure out your mac code on the DS (my router only lets the certain MAC codes from only a couple devices.... probably one of the more secure ways of locking up your connection), and you can use the WAP codes (I think it is WAP) which allows a small bit of encryption on a certain term that you select (I can explain better if you need me too... this is just a quick explanation).

once you connect, you can get on and play. The WiFi software is in the games... not the system.

Then they have friends codes that you can meet up with friends (you better add us :lol and give us yours so we can add you)... the game auto saves your friends codes..etc.

do you know anything about wireless routers?

You can have it so there is no security and any device can attach ata any time... that is not secure at all... but you can do that.

I have mine set up SO THAT it filters a machine's mac address (Machine Address Code)... which is the unique ID of that machine. IF the machine is not listed on my router setup, the machine cannot connect. WAP (I believe that is what it is called) is just an encryption method.

It isn't that hard... or hard to find out how to do it. Took me 10 min to hook up even with all the crap I have to do to get them to connect.

How much are they?

depends on the speed of the router, brand, and range. You also need a wireless PCI card for your PC so that your PC can recieve the wireless signal.

I have a question. I cant seem to find the usb device from Nintendo. I dont see it on their page. :-\

I got my wireless router for $70-79.... it is a linksys... very nice and supports a/b/g wireless... I have a wireless laptop and a psp so that comes in handy.....
See... I have a laptop and desktop....  my desktop is wired into the main router... while I have a wireless router extension for the laptop and wireless devices. I am going to get a wireless extension for the Gamecube (to play PSO 1/2 plus without having to plug into the routers... I can then play it wirelessly), but I don't have the extra $100 to spend right now. It would make playing Phantasy Star Online 1/2 a lot easier.

I have a 3 layer router security right now... and it runs SMOOTHLY over everything... except I still cannot do starcraft real well :( Ever since I got off of Win 98.... and on XP Pro, starcraft just doesn't work well online OR via network. It is one of the VERY FEW games that give me trouble. Warcraft 2 bnet edition does give me problems as well.... which sucks because they are both fun to play. I've even gone direct and bypassed the routers and I still have troubles with starcraft. I am going to try the Win 98 emulation modes though and see if that will clear the problem up..... as I still have my old laptop with 98, and starcraft works fine.... even through the routers (so it has to be OS problems). Battle.net stated it was an issue with the updated winsock in XP / XP Pro.... but some people don't have problems... so I don't know..... sorry for the long tangent :lol

Here is your Nintendo USB Wifi device ($35):

:lol I hope that link works...
that HAS to be the longest link I have ever seen..... I am even trying to figure out what a lot of that extra garbage means.

If I dont get my router then Im going to have to go to the library or my gf's house. They both have wifi and Im tired of playing against the computer.

As for what I would like to see on the DS wifi? Goldenye, the N64 version. I can see awsome potential with Nintendo's wifi and Goldeneye's awsome multiplayer modes.
