Demand:
9. Economics.
a. the desire to purchase, coupled with the power to do so.
b. the quantity of goods that buyers will take at a particular price.
Yes I dont see how that doesnt make sense or invalidate my logic. If you cant sell everything on the shelf then that shows there is no demand. Demand only becomes apparent once something is gone and people request more.
I think this is coming from a little misconception on exactly what demand is. Demand isn't someone literally demanding for more of a product because there is none of it left. Demand is just how much of a market is out there for a specific product, not how many people are still left needing the product after a given period of time because the company can't produce it fast enough.
Simply put, the demand for the DS has vanished as their are still units on store shelves. If there are not any DS Lites on shelves that means that there is high demand
Ebay is not a place to gauge demand for people will put any imagined price on something is already readily available at a store to people who assume that there are 0 DS at the stores.

That possible does make sense. Perhaps more sense then me saying there is no demand based on me happening to go to the store when they could have very well just put more systems on the shelf midday. Please forgive
