Metroid Prime 3 discussion.

Re: Metroid Prime 3: The Anti-Hype (IGN editorial)

To the average gamer, in one game in a series involves almost purely solving puzzles, they all do. Uncle tim didnt try out MGS3 because MGS2 was "Too futuristic." or "too confusing" or something. Dont get me wrong, I love Metroid Prime. Its just that a lot of other people would rather play Halo... Or Medal of Honor :-\

Yeah, but Metroid is about more than solving puzzles, just like Zelda is. If they played up the fps aspect of Metroid it could do a lot for the game, especially with the Wii controls making it so accurate.

not recently, corruption and hunters are geared more towards combat that their predecessors.

and @ boom, i dont think anyone likes medal of honor more than metroid.

Hines, you havent met Brandon Reynolds or Uncle Tim have you?

Re: Metroid Prime 3: The Anti-Hype (IGN editorial)

All Brandon Reynolds talks about is freaking military games. Hes like, "Socom is the best game ever made!" He also thought God of War was set in WWII :lol

Re: Metroid Prime 3: The Anti-Hype (IGN editorial)

yeah, i remember him saying something about that when we were drinking coffee that one day last winter.

Re: Metroid Prime 3: The Anti-Hype (IGN editorial)

I just think it would be cool if Nintendo did something like the Gears of War commercial set to "Mad World." I still think of Gears when I hear that song. It was really awesome marketing, IMO.

The hardest part would be picking a song, but I'm sure they have enough footage to make a commercial like that.

Re: Metroid Prime 3: The Anti-Hype (IGN editorial)

I can see it now. Samus rolling into a ball and bouncing around to "I'm a barbie girl" or "Girls just wanna have fun". :lol

Re: Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel.

Although it's cool, they need to try harder. They're only marketing it to Nintendo Wii owners right now. Despite the Wii's great success, you'd think they would broadcast this game (even if a short video) on tv to attract more people to buy a Wii.

It's only a small treat for Wii owners. Nothing big.

Look, what would the average gamer rather do? Save the galaxy with macho dual-wielding guns or by solving puzzles?

I'd rather play a game that has a good mix of puzzles, exploration and action than just yet another generic shooting game. Sooo, the second answer.

Agree. Shooting with puzzles, exploring, and thinking>shooting.

I'd rather beat the game online with three other friends. That's just me though.

Before this turns into another Halo vs Metroid Prime type deal though, just think. Both of the series does what it's meant to do best. I haven't seen any better FPS with an addictive online community like Halo, and I haven't seen any better FPS that utilizes puzzles and exploration like Metroid Prime.

Metroid Prime 3 (is not) Delayed

when i went on the MP3 preview channel to see the new videos (which still arent unlocked......its the 13th, isnt it!?) it said at the bottom, "metroid prime 3 in stores august 28th!"

delayed one day, now its going to be the first day back to school :'(

Re: Metroid Prime 3 Delayed

I think it's a typo. One, one day won't do crap. Two, the Wii games have Monday releases. Mario Galaxy, November 12th, Monday. Smash Bros., December 3rd, Monday. Metroid Prime 3, August 28th, Tuesday. It will be the 27th. Even before the 27th, it was the 20th, another Monday.

Re: Metroid Prime 3 Delayed

What will one day do? Seriously, the Monday thing.
