how are PSP owners able to afford it?

Yeah but I have been known to sit with my GBA SP and play Golden Sun or Pokemon or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for five or more hours at a time. I sit on my couch and play, even though I have a 27" flat screen tv in the bedroom to play the consoles on. A lot of the handheld games just seem more addictive, even though they are supposed to be "pick-up-and-play." Most of the time, it's just easier to play an rpg on a handheld than it is a console. You have to devote more time to console games to get enjoyment out of them. I can beat Golden Sun in 17 hours, but 17 hours wouldn't even get me halfway through a game like Final Fantasy X. It's easier to find 17 hours for a GBA game than it is to find 100+ hours for a console game. Nowadays people complain that games are too short, but personally I like when they are short. It means that I can play more games in less time. And quality is better than quantity, anyway.

Even with the battery life of the PSP, what I'm most looking forward to is the rpgs.

I'm selling all of my Nintendo stuff to buy one, and also my cards. so far it's working out okay, though it will take a long time to get the money. I aam also doing yardwok for my mom's boyfriend at minimum wage, so that's working out.

Also if anyone is interested in buying older consloes or cards, just eamil me sk8rkid101@hotmail.com. Oh, wait, is asking if anyone is inerested allowed on these forums?

I did what BOX is doing and got sold my Nintendo stuff (N64, 5 N64 games, DS, 3 DS games, GBASP, 10 GBA games) the total came to under 100$ for the system, a game, and the screen protector.

Did you charge the battery before playing it? Did you stop at any time to check and see how much battery life was left? Did you check the clock at all while playing this game?

Honestly, I think if it just shuts down on you, its your own fault for not exerting a little common sense. If you know that playing online is gonna suck the battery a little more and you know that you haven't charged your battery in awhile and you know you've been playing for at least an hour, maybe you should stop yourself and see how much battery life you have left. Doesn't that make sense?
Of course.  It was fully charged.
In the middle of an online death match... it would be cool to know that the game is not going to just shut down.

Its honestly very annoying. Its happened 2-3 times now.

I thought 1 gig memory sticks weren't available yet in that format?  I thought only 1/2 gig was...

Yes, the 1 gig stick is not actually out yet. I believe that it got pushed back to June (the Sandisk brand one...not sure about Sony). But the GameStop had the price listed already and the 1 gig card is $149.99.

I read in PSM that Sony's even going to make 2 and 3 gig cards. I don't even want to contemplate how much those are going to cost.

I hope the price of the 1 gig goes down a little by the time I get a PSP.

actually... I just saw a 1 gig one at the store.

How much? $150? man... I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it... which is what I saw it for.

Yeah... 1 gig sticks have been out for a while now. 2 gigs should be out soon.

As for the "no indicator," the power light flashes when you have less than an hour left of battery life.

2-3 hours... thats with wifi on... screen at the brightest...etc

Are you sure this blinks when you are in a game? Via wifi online?

ok... the real deal on this is that it DOES blink before the battery is going to run out.... its only 3-5 seconds BEFORE the battery dies.

I take it because he would rather have the PSP.

lol that's funny that you would sell every other system to buy one that you are going to sell in a few years. lol

i never sell my systems. i know its not worth it in the end. i did sell my N64. that was stupid because i miss the old thing now :(

I usually play a game a while and sell it while it's still quite new so I get a good price. I then use that money to buy more games, so in the end I can get more or less any game I want for half the price. Including new games that hit the store the same day. ;)

I beat most games once, and that's about it. When I beat it, I'm pretty much too tired of it to bother going in again. Some racing games and sports games keep me occupied a long time, but when I'm done, I'm done. Instead of keeping those old games so I can play them later, I sell them and get new games. I have tried to keep some games so I can come back later and play again, but always end up playing something different instead.
