Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
The PSP may get it's first Final Fantasy game very soon. So what better way, then with FF Tactics?

according to 1up.com

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War will be an enhanced port of the classic PlayStation game. Extras include cartoon-like movies depicting the story, and some new jobs, starting with the series' famous Onion Knight. The game will also be displayed in glorious 16:9 widescreen.
The Lion War is being developed as part of the "Ivalice Alliance," which already includes the recently announced DS game Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. In addition to these, Square Enix has announced a third game in development, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire. The platform for this one has not been announced yet, but could potentially be a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, on either GBA or DS.

Right now, there's no release date for any of these games, but we'll be sure to bring you further info when it is revealed. :)

Tactics isn't a final fantasy game :P Misleading thread!!!!

On this note though, they did finally unveil a playable version of the new FF7 that was promised years ago now. Just a demo at a convention though, so who knows when it'll come out.

:o

I think that's all I need to say.

Sigh..

Why are we getting a reprint of a game not even very old when we could very well have FFT2?

I'd much rather have FFT on DS, as the battery would last me longer and I'm more likely to have it while travelling. Not so much for the PSP.

The PSP will do an excellent job of displaying the marvelous attacks that the game is known for. PLus they can do more with the graphics and sound that the PSP will require.

Final Fantasy Tactics to have multiplayer

At least if the US version is to have the same features as the Japanese one . Square Enix has told IGN that the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War will have two player battles with a red team vs a blue team so that there is no confusion as to who you should injure mid-combat. Also you will have a limited number of turns to be victorious, thus preventing a tactics wimp from just running during an entire battle. I can't see them cutting this feature in the US given the popularity of multiplayer in the US, but I suppose we'll have to wait for confirmation to be sure.

so like, it'll be 2 people vs. 2 other people or something like that? it won't be like Castlevania, portrait of ruin where u team up to batlle bosses?

October 10th is the US release date!

Who's excited? :) This remake is surely remarkable! Why I remember when I was a wee lad, I was a mere 16 years old playing this badboy on PS1.

I just wish it was on a console instead of a portable, The newer translation is pretty impressive I'd say!

I'd be more excited if it wasn't on the PSP. Doesn't mean it can't do good, but yeah. It's the PSP. Ain't got many charms.

Just went and got mine, started playing... so dissapointed. Why couldn't they just fix the rampant typos instead of giving it a TOTAL revamping of dialogue and new ability names etc. etc. + the voice acting is retarded, delita is the only half way decently voiced character. The dialogue is needlessly complex ( i understand it fine but - mocking the game- 'tis a trifle trite with flamboyance and filigree, ser) they spell sir 'ser' and acadamy 'akademy' like they're impressing anyone who played the original. ughhhhhhh... i keep telling myself it's all for the multiplayer

Wow, alright, I get to the point at Dorter where Wiegraf is interrigating a Death Corps member (now called the Corpse Brigade, how clever) and instead of saying the deserters are in the Sand Rat's Cellar like in the first game, they're now in Sand Rat's Sietch. Know what a sietch is? Neither did I, so I go to look up the meaning.

A sietch is a Fremen desert settlement on the planet Arrakis in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert. In Terminology of the Imperium, the glossary of the novel Dune, Herbert provides the following definition: SIETCH: Fremen: "Place of assembly in time of danger." Because the Fremen lived so long in peril, the term came by general usage to designate any cave warren inhabited by one of their tribal communities.

Are you F'in kidding me? They took a word from the crappy novel Dune and just decided to stick in this game for no good reason.
