DSiWare

Zenonia (800pts, Gamevil USA Inc.) – A fully fledged RPG for DSiWare, this follows a hero named Regret who sets out to discover why his father was murdered by a demon. There's the promise of plenty of item customisation and refinement as well as a night and day system.

FIZZ (200pts, DK Games) – A puzzle game for DSiWare that asks you to join up nodes of the same colour to create energy in your rings. DK has previously published Equilibrio and Fishie Fishie for WiiWare.

Octo 4th, 2010.

Shantae: Risky's Revenge (WayForward, 1200pts) – The genial genie finally returns in this highly anticipated release. The price point may seem steep, but WayForward assures us this one is packed with enough content to keep you going for ages.

Rummikub (Games Factory Online, 800pts) – A handheld version of the popular tile-based board game, this game offers four player action against players who also own the game.
---------------

Wow Capcom, after a SUPER LONG WAIT since the GameBoy Color. Shantae 2 finally arrives at $15?? Pretty steep for a DSiWare game.

DSiWare

G.G Series: Super Hero Ogre (Genterprise, 200pts) – Another slice of quickfire gaming action from the G.G Series.

Datamine (Enjoy Gaming, 500pts) – You are the safety inspector at the largest data centre facility in the world, but something has gone terribly wrong: the entire world's data is lost. You must reclaim every piece of information across 100 levels, grabbing upgrades along the way. Datamine was released in Europe last week.

Ivy the Kiwi? Mini (XSEED Games, 500pts) – A bite-sized Kiwi nugget of Prope's platforming gem Ivy the Kiwi?, this offers up a sample of the levels available in the full version. If you weren't tempted enough to spend the full whack on the DS version, this might entice you to do so.

oooo more Yuji Naka love this week. Me likey long time! Kekeke!

October 26th, 2010.

Go! Go! Island Rescue (Connect2Media, 500pts) – A port of the popular iPhone puzzler, as Robbie the firefighter your job is to protect the hapless "Darwins" from a number of disasters, including rampaging fires. The original title is well-regarded so hopefully this one can set DSiWare alight too.

Spot the Difference (Enjoy Gaming, 500pts) – You should be able to guess what this one's about, but if not our Spot the Difference review might make things a little clearer for you. It's not a bad little title if you know what to expect: lots of difference-spotting.

GO Series: Defense Wars (Gamebridge, 200pts) – The second bite-sized entry in the GO Series, Defense Wars is a nice little twist on the standard tower defence genre.

Flashlight (Kaasa Solution, 200pts) – We were beginning to lose hope of ever seeing this DSiWare classic reach North America, but after six months of European exclusivity it's time to turn on the lights.

DSiWare

Snapdots (Nintendo, 500pts) – A new puzzle title from Nintendo that combines everyone's two favourite things: picture puzzles and UFOs. A grid-based picture puzzle, the screenshots make it look a little like a cross between Picross and Art Style.

Armada (Zoo Games, 500pts) – You're in charge of military aircraft carrier, and it's your job to land fighters, refuel jets and avoid blowing up. A little tactical strategy can be refreshing from time to time, so we'll soon find out if Armada is the bomb or a dud.

Academy: Tic-Tac-Toe (Gamelion, 200pts) – Another cheap and cheerful title from Gamelion following the success of Extreme Hangman.

Music On: Playing Piano (Abylight, 200pts) – The latest in Abylight's melodic series, Playing Piano lets you play piano to 15 well-known songs, achieving medals according to your performance.

Nov 8th, 2010

Discolight (Kaasa Solution, 200pts) – Complete the set! Following the release of Flashlight you can now turn your DSi into an all-purpose rave wherever you go.

GO Series Pinball Attack! (Gamebridge, 500pts) – A crazy mix of pinball, platformer and shoot 'em up, this one's not quite as fun as previous GO Series releases.

Adventure in Vegas: Slot Machine (Gamelion Studios, 200pts) – A slot machine title featuring three themed machines: Hawaiian, Pirate Treasure and Mexican Heat, each with its own tunes, graphics and special features.

DSiWare

* Need for Speed: Nitro-X (EA, 1-4 players, 800 DSi Points): Drive 18 high-end sports cars, including the Lamborghini Gallardo -- or pursue those cars with six equally ridiculous police cars, across 16 tracks.
* Go Fetch! (Agetec, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Use the stylus to guide your puppy to the thrown ball. Don't get too close to a cat! Of course.
* 21: Blackjack (Digital Leisure, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): This game's title wants you to be absolutely certain this is blackjack. And it's really customizable blackjack: with options for dealer behavior, number of decks, payouts, and more.

DSiWare

Tetris Party Live (Tetris Online Inc, 500pts) – Take a bit of Tetris with you wherever you go with this fully online-enabled version of the classic drop 'em-turn 'em-stack 'em up.

Music On: Electric Guitar (Abylight, 200pts) – If you're after something like Music On: Acoustic Guitar but with a bit more kick, this is probably the package for you. Distortion and delay pedals are available, with over 900 chords and arpeggios for advanced players to create their melodies.

Supermarket Mania (G5 Entertainment, 500pts) – Released in Europe last week, this is a grocery simulator where you must please your customers to expand your grand empire.

Hey! A game worth mentioning!

DSiWare

Cave Story (Nicalis, 1000pts) – The portable version of WiiWare's top notch Cave Story, this can hopefully live up to the standard of its home console predecessor whilst making some much-needed improvements.

Frenzic (Two Tribes, 200pts) – Released in Europe last Friday, this cut prize puzzler scored plenty of awards in its previous states so let's hope it's just as playable on DSi.

Spot It! Challenge (Big John Games, 200pts) – It sounds like a hidden object game on paper, but the photographs used to form the puzzles of Spot It! Challenge could set this apart from the competition.

-------------------

One game you want to buy? CAVE STORY.

Dec 6th, 2010.

Rytmik: Rock Edition (Cinemax, 200pts) – An absolute steal at just 200 Points – its original European release cost 800 Points – Rytmik: Rock Edition is the guitar-driven cousin to synth dance studio Rytmik, and a tool any aspiring rock star should pick up.

Dairojo! Samurai Defenders (Abylight, 800pts) – A tower defence title with shades of the Far East, this comes with a multiplayer Download Play option for local players to face off against each other.

Space Ace (Digital Leisure Inc, 800pts) – Remember Dragon's Lair? Space Ace is a spiritual successor set in space, so if you've played Dirk the Daring's adventures you should have a fairly good idea of what to expect.

-------------------------------------

Nice, I wonder how Space Ace looks?

Dec 20th, 2010. Merry Christmas week!

DSiWare

Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp (Digital Leisure, 800pts) – The Don Bluth trilogy is now complete on DSiWare, with Dragon's Lair II rounding out the triptych alongside Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.

Cosmo Fighters (Abylight, 500pts) – A four-player, retro-styled beat 'em up on DSiWare? Your eyes aren't lying, it's Abylight's latest downloadable title.

Just Sing! Christmas Vol. 2 (dtp Entertainment, 200pts) – Get another pair of carols to warble with this seasonal songbook. Or read our Just Sing! Christmas Vol. 2 review and save your money instead.

Paul's Monster Adventure (Agetec Inc., 500pts) – Presumably an accompaniment to bizarre baby blaster Paul's Shooting Adventure, Paul's Monster Adventure tasks you with stealing food to feed starving bosses. A sharp satire on the current economic climate or just a fun way to blow 500 Points?

Dec 27th, 2010. Farewell 2010!

DodoGo! Challenge (Neko Entertainment, 500pts) – This Lemmings-reminiscent puzzler has you roll eggs safely from one end of the stage to the other and serves as a sequel to the previously released DodoGo!

Fantasy Slots: Adventure Slots and Games (Big John Games, 500pts) – You can take casino fun on the go with this slot machine simulator.

G.G Series: Z•ONE (Genterprise, 200pts) – Not to be confused with GO Series: Dark Spirits, another Suzak-developed shmup recently released in Europe that we'll have a review for soon, this is the next in the G.G series of localised Japanese budget titles. Genterprise bills this as a technical side-scrolling shooter that has you invade an enemy fortress.

January 3rd, 2011. Your first DSiWare games of the new year are...

DSiWare

Alt-Plat: Jason Rohrer Anthology (Sabarasa, 200pts) - A collection of indie games from Jason Rohrer, there's genuinely nothing like this on DSiWare. Of the three titles here - Passage, Gravitation and Between - the last is only playable with another DS owner.

Music on: Drums (Abylight, 500pts) - A drum sequencer rather than a virtual drumkit, this could prove useful for laying down beats on the go and creating your own songs, with a wide range of sounds available.

Word Searcher 2 (Digital Leisure, 500pts) - Another 100 themed wordsearch puzzles from DSi puzzle obsessives Digital Leisure, who released prequel Word Searcher almost exactly one year ago.

January 10th, 2011

DSiWare

Petz Catz Family (Ubisoft, 800 Points) - just slowly back away from this one and never look back.

Surfacer+ (Lexis Numerique, 500 Points) - This one promises "totally innovative gameplay" and something about flowers and monsters. (PvZ? Nah)

EJ Puzzles: Hooked (Electron Jump, 500 Points) - A fishing game where you're supposed to be strategic and catch in order by weight.

DSiWare- Jan 17th, 2011

Glory Days - Tactical Defense (odenis studio, 200pts) – A military-flavoured title from odenis studio, the team behind Pop Island and Pop Island: Paperfield, this runs on the same smooth engine as those two titles.

Animal Boxing (Akaoni Studio, 800pts) – The fact this game is all about cartoon animals fighting would normally be enough, but it's the first game to ask you to play your DSi upside-down, with stylus control over a range of punches.

The Seller (CIRCLE Entertainment, 500pts) – A card game about introducing people to bankruptcy: now there's a winning idea.

Alien Puzzle Adventure (Mastertronic, 500pts) – Only just behind Doc Clock in the "best game title" race this week, this is a match-three game unlike any seen on DSiWare yet. Why? It's got aliens in it.

January 24th, 2011.

DSiWare

Airport Mania: Non-Stop Flights (Lemon Games, 200pts) – A portable companion to Airport Mania: First Flight, this is a cutesy time management title that puts you in charge of landing aircraft at a series of busy airports.

Rocks 'n' Rockets (Tik Games LLC, 500pts) – A Missile Command-style title that launched in Europe late last year, this actually offers a fair amount of longevity for your 500 Points.

Digger Dan & Kaboom (Virtual Playground, 500pts) – A game about digging and pet gophers, this could be the complete package, but we haven't got many more details at the moment.

Ante Up: Texas Hold'em (MonkeyPaw Games, 500pts) – It's poker in the palm of your hand! Up to 8 players can sit around a virtual table to bet, raise, call and stay stony-faced in the midst of overwhelming pressure.

Feb 7th, 2011.

* Boom Boom Squaries (Gamelion, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): Blow up square enemies to create chain reactions in this Furry Legends spin-off.
* 505 Tangram (cosmigo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): It's not just a clever name; there are 505 tangram puzzles in this game.
* Shawn Johnson Gymnastics (Zoo Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Work your way up the ranks in gymnastics competition.

Feb 14th, 2011. Happy Valentine's Day! However your DSi doesn't love you enough to bring quality games. :P

DSiWare

Treasure Hunter X (Agetec Inc., 500pts) – Explore creature-infested caverns as Tyrol the treasure hunter, searching for lost fortunes to win the heart of the woman of his dreams. A clever satire on the commercialism of Valentine's Day or an indictment of the material instincts that drives modern relationships.

Oscar in Toyland 2 (Virtual Playground, 500pts) – You know you're in for a wild ride when the press release uses the word "zany", but this mediocre follow-up to the run-of-the-mill original is anything but zany.

Panda Craze (TiK Games LLC, 500pts) – Control a panda called Tik-Ling who must collect magical lanterns to unlock portals to new worlds.
