Does anyone still play their Virtual Boy?

no but NOW I want to start playing again... only have 4 or 5 games maybe only 3. so If i was playing i would probably be playing wario or pinball

Virtual Boy was nintendo's stab at a Virtual reality game system. People complained of headaches, it had almost no games, what games it did have were nominal and had very little replay value (ok thats my opinion but it seems to be shared by the majority) and had horrible color/graphics. Of course Virtual Reality is a newer technology (makes me think back to when nintendo had a power glove and those wireless controllers before infarred technology became super cheap and actually decent) and is REALLY expensive, so w/o nintendo having a machine that sold for thousands of dollars I guess they just used a red/black scale of colors and failed miserably.

What I think is sad about the whole thing is now I bet nintendo and other developers are gun shy and when vr technology becomes cheaper and more advanced the flop of the virtualboy may steer developers away from virtual reality.... hopefully though they'll try again in the future. Of course, I'm still hopeing for a data glove that has game support and works well.........

I actually liked the system.

I thought Mario Tennis (yes, this is where mario tennis started!), Tetris, and red alarm were GREAT games!

But...... some of the games were crap as well.

The graphics were pretty darn good... as they were honestly 32bit.  if you played Mario Tennis, the graphics are NICE, but everything is a shade of red.
I loved playing Red Alarm.  Its like a 3rd / 1st person futuristic airplane shooter...... IMO.. it was really fun, and trust me... it had a great challenge to it.  I still play my VB to this day.

Some people do not like it though... but I do :)

Did any of you ever get headaches from it? I got one once from playing it, but that could have been related to the 7 Dr. Peppers I drank before that... :D

The red/black only colors is what turned me off of the system. I played a few games for it, but I never really got into it.

Not so much a headache... I had something odd happen....

Basically, when I got done playing...... my vision had a green tint to it.  NOW, I don't know if thats a result of looking at red for awhile..... BUT sometimes it looked like  a mild case of night vision goggles :lol :lol :lol

I am not kidding either.

That does sound like what would happen if you looked at red for a long time. Optical illusions and such.

Night vision=sweet

for me playing the VB for a few min my eyes kind feel like when you turn up the brightness on your tv and the screen get realy white

Well most games tend to have nice artwork or at least they are fun to look at. (so collecting them is fun in that sense too)

eww... that doesn't sound fun either!

I wonder if it does cause any harm to the eyes...

Probably no more harm than reading with little light. And even that has almost no negative effect on your eyes. Now, if the Vitrual Boy produces light like, say, a welder does, then your eyes will be messed up in no time. 8)
