Do You Like To Buy Special Edition Games? The Ones That Cost Almost $80-$100?

Personally,I just buy the game. The extras don't appeal to me.

Depends on the game.
I like game soundtracks, and they are usually pretty expensive, so if I find an edition that comes with a soundtrack, it's worth the $80 - $100. ^_^

I don't usually spend more than $70 on a collector's edition. Most of the time, it's just not worth it for behind the scenes stuff that I'll never watch, and an art book that I'll maybe glance through once.

Most I'll spend on special editions is $150. And that only happens when a fighter releases a bundle with a fighting stick. *looks at Street Fighter IV and Tekken 6*

I am however getting the special edition of GoW3 which is $100.

But, I usually only buy the special editions with certain games.

Though I wish more publishers would release special editions like they did with BlazBlue, which was release the special edition a week before the standard for the same price as the standard, making it actually special.

At times, yes because of the bonus goods. Yet when I receive the LE, I do not like the look of the case. Metal cased games come to mind, they damage so easily and the plastic sleeve to cover them are not very durable (Lost Planet Xbox 360 comes to mind and Halo Wars LE). The ugliest one I have ever seen was Fable 2. As soon as you remove the paper sleeve, the artwork is at a right angle. Which was the dumbest idea ever.

Halo 3 Collector's Edition was the biggest, ugliest, cluster fart ever. The day it came out, we had over 15 people complain their disc was damaged since the disc could not be held in place and the metal tin case bent like a soda can with ease. WTG Bungie. They should have taken a lesson from Epic Games' Gears of War LE, it was safer and more secure while sporting the nice look.

Oblivion's LE was pretty sweet, a nice paper casing with the cool coin. Only downside was trying to remember which disc was the game disc lol

So far my favorite LE of most games had to be HALO 3 ODST, simply because it came with an extra controller. Which in my case I needed at the time and I didn't spend $60 on the game but $50 instead. Since it was $99 in total for game and the controller. Plus the beauty of it, the game came in a NORMAL case and nothing fancy like Halo Wars.

It depends on the game. I especially like ones that come with soundtracks.

For Collector's Edition games or games that for whatever reason come in awkward packaging, I take them out and put them in a CD binder so I don't have to open the collector case all the time. It makes it a lot faster.

Depends on the game and the extras. I bought the Final Fantasy 12 one because I'm a fan :) and I wanted the extra dvd and metal case. Of course I could have waited and the price came down, but no stinking way. I had to have that game right away!!! ::)

O_O I have Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, FFX, Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts 2. But you're collection is much bigger/better ^_^

Dang Mai, I didn't know you had that many OST's. Where do you buy them? I'd love to get a few of those.

I want Dante's Inferno's soundtrack like on Audio CD so i can put it on my computer and listen to it.

Depends something like the Resident Evil 5's Limited edition that only came with a making of i think doesn't appeal but something like the upcoming AVP's Hunter Edition appeals to me big time Moldable Face hugger that's the only reason i need to get it oh and the game.

Well, the Halo and Gears of War OSTs I actually got from Walmart. But if they don't have them anymore you can probably get them at Best Buy. Or online from either store.

Lunar Silver Star Story and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue came with the games (I have the Collector's Editions of both of those)

Xenosaga 2 came with the Collector's Edition Strategy Guide for the game.

Persona came with the game.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga was a pre-order bonus at GameStop.

Castlevania 20th Anniversary was a pre-order bonus with Portrait of Ruin at GameStop.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was a bonus for re-subscribing to Nintendo Power.

Super Smash Bros. Melee was a bonus for having a subscription to Nintendo Power.

The rest are all imports from playasia.com.

They gave you a free Twilight Princess just for renewing your subscription?! Sweet!

No, I meant they gave me the soundtrack for Twilight Princess. Sorry about that.
That's too bad. That game would've made a nice little gift with renewal.I would've liked to see other magazine companies top that deal.A free gift worth double the renewal fee :lol
