But it says nothing on if its a premium package or a core system. Assistance wanted.

$279 is the new Xbox 360 arcade model. It's basically the core, but with Pacman, and a couple other arcade games, packed in.

And the Core has been $279 since July.

Yeah, the Core is kinda worthless. You're probably gonna pay the difference between the Core and Premium in memory cards, within a year. :P

You cant go wrong with the xbox 360 but get the core system it alot better or get the elite your choice

The Core is the worst, it has no hard drive, a wired controller, and it's been discontinued. Get the Premium, unless you want the extra Elite space. Actually, at Gamestop, the Premium is $350 and the Elite is $450, yet they're selling a standalone 120GB used hard drive for $70.

Just make sure to get a system with a harddrive. :) It's a lot better to just buy it outright than to start with a memory card and end up buying a HD anyway.

Definitely..Kinda like getting a nice new car without AC and power windows . i also thought about going the cheap route and getting the core only, but went ahead and shelled out a few more bucks for the premium. i have no regrets and I can really enjoy the system to it's fullest. You can't go wrong with the included HD and wireless controller. On that note, I'm eventually going wireless on my next-gen controllers anyway.

you cant go online with a core(unless you buy a harddrive), you cant save a lot of games, no HD, and wired controllers

I try to explain to people who buy a 360 why the Core is NOT A GOOD BUY because they will end up spending more in the long term on storage. Unfortunately a lot of times they want whatever costs less at the moment. I had to save up a long time to get mine but I won't ever need to upgrade it.

but we'll be the ones laughing when you sell people memory cards at Wal-Mart :lol

What really makes me LOL is right now we don't have any memory cards for it, and the only ones we get in stock ever are the 64MB ones which is like nothing. Then only hard drive we have is the 120. Looks like the joke is on them. ^_~
