Yo! I'm looking for the best PC gaming monitor. Price range is up to 400$, 24" or larger. Any Suggestions?

I've been playing some Crysis... Even though it gets a little warm (okay, pretty hot, but the auto fan ramps up its speed), my good ol' 8800GT can handle the game with all settings on high, 2x AA, at 1280x1024 without hiccupping. Granted, these pics are with photobucket's compression...

This is probably a dumb question, but in some games the writing is so small I can't even read it. Is there anyway to make the text bigger?
