Thats right, Nintendo has 221 First-party pre-cube games ready for download on the revolution. And the best part is it's free. Third party games are going to be priced depending on what third party developers want to charge.

Amazing. This had better be true, and to be honest I never thought that it would be free.

I really hope they but that controller port to use, having a SNES controller hook up would be great.

So third-party games like FF and what not will probably have a price tag on them. Hopefully the publishers will be reasonable. I'd hate to see Square-Enix price their early FF for and obscene price, just because they know they'll get away with it.

Kinda makes me feel like a moron for buying the GBA versions of NES games and scrounging for cartridges everywhere in Animal Crossing...

But, on the other hand, that's pretty sweet. I didn't think it'd be free either, but that's awesome that it isn't.

Uh, one minor problem I noticed while browsing GameFaqs, That article is from June, is it not?

Yes you are correct. So either it's been announced and it went over most of our heads or it's false. I really hope it's not false.

I already knew this actually...the date on it is "Jun 6th, 2005". My big question is 3rd party now..just like everyone else

Maybe the boys at Nintendo watched Field of Dreams lately. 'If you build it, they will come." :D

Yay! One more reason to be happy! Who needs to buy games when you can get the revolution and get all the games you want from earlier systems for free? *Dancing*

Even if the Revolution was more expensive than the other two systems when it comes out (which it won't) it would be worth it anyway.

Well, demand would obviously go down, but at the same time, they would b emore precious collectors items. I mean, theres a sense of pride from still having calssic systems and games. If I could, I would expand that collection. Of course...that costs money...that I don't have. But yes, it does make one wonder about any store owner when there wares are in danger of becoming unwanted.

i wonder how bluevoodu feels about this?after all he deals in selling classic Nintendo games.
well... to be honest, it makes me nervous a bit because I deal a lot in Nintendo items (older that is).

people will always want the originals... but if they can be downloaded... I am anticipating lower demand of some used games..etc.

Bv :hat

That is a tough situation. The only thing I can see doing is trying to reach the collectors of original games. Obviously, thats easier said than done.

Also you can get up to 20 years of free downloading too.

Welcome to the boards Navi23. As for your post, is that really so? Do you have a link for some proof? It would be great if future Nintendo consoles were able to play them also.

Ok here is the link. I think i made a mistake thuogh because on nintndo website it says that it can play titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).http://www.nintendo.com/revolution

Oh ok I think I misunderstood you. They allow games from up to twenty years ago to be downloaded. I see now. :)
