Will this be readily available by the holiday season?

I don't honestly think it's possible for Nintendo to stay OUT OF STOCK throughout the holiday season, as they're aiming to ship ~2 million units to the United States by the end of the calender year I believe (may be off, but I believe so).

Honestly... it remains to be seen.
 
Thyey are sold out this week.  I have all mine claimed.

BUT if you want, I can keep you informed.... I believe  a restock is coming somewhat soon.  Maybe 2 weeks... if you want one :)

They are going to have in excess of 2 million (as sartori said).... SO there should be any problems. ALTHOUGH with as hot as the Wii is this Christmas, It could happen. No joke...
SUPPOSIVELY it's supposed to be the next hottest Christmas gift next to the Tickle Me Elmo doll... yeah... that's what I've been hearing. I haven't seen an "official" statement on that though.

Some stores got as many as 900 units. But come holiday season they could be sold out. So ask for it early and hint that it could be gone soon.

They are sold out though aren't they? I thought all of the launch has pretty much sold out?

My store still has 20 or so, so if anyone lives in the Southeastern Michigan area, feel free to go pick one up!

yeah... not a store within many miles of here has a Wii.

Oddly enough... I can find Ps3's...  In stock today at best buy.    Of course they weren't out... and you had to ask.  I just happened to see 2 people with them and asked if they had anymore.  they had 1-2 left at that store.

Prepare for Ebay to floodeth over... even more this time.

4 million units worldwide by the end of December.

I estimatete:

2 Million USA/NA
1 million Euro
1 Million JON *Why so low? Because they can ship them from China like ASAP. USA is a bit harder,
 
At first I would have said yes, but after a week of being totally wiped out on systems, accessories, and Zeldas, I'd have to say no. I would estimate that my store gets at least 100 calls a day asking about the Wii, which would seem to indicate that no one else in the area has them, either.

Honestly though, I think a lot of it has to do with Christmas being so near. In January the demand should die down and the systems should be easier to find. Right now people are just desperate because they think the world will end if their kid doesn't get a Wii for Christmas.
