What do you start getting excited about in spring?

mrs_enigma

Here is a lil smile for ya :)
Today it is bright and sunny out, and a lot of the snow has melted..and it is really starting to feel like it might actually be spring here.

This got me to thinking about how I get a certain feeling in the spring..like anticipation of different things I associate spring with, or things that I know will happen in the spring.

I was wondering what you all start looking forward to in spring?

I start thinking about the birds coming back and a semi-warm breeze, and no coat and about the trails at the state park drying up so I can walk on em.

I think about baby animals too, and tiny flowers in the woods.

I spose everyone prolly thinks of similiar things, but I just wondered what cool/special feelings you might get?

I think of thunderstorms, the fresh smell of newly thawed lakes, baseball, and mountain biking in the forests! I really like spring because you can be in the forest without all the bugs like in summertime :)

Well, when it's spring I like to get my mower back in top condition so I could sneeze my brains out when I cut the Grass. I also stock up on bug spray so I can do my part to deplete the wasp population. And I love to play the game "identify the road kill" when we travel to different places. And the chaffing the sand gives me when I drive home from the beach in cold wet swim shorts because I forgot a change of clothes. And I enjoy hearing the people around me complain about how hot it is. Especially when they have no idea what hot really is. Spring is also the time when the scent of burning flesh is in the air after sitting on vinyl seats that have been marinating in the sun.

Heh. Just kidding. Spring is the best time of the year. It's sweet tea time... 8)

ugh, spring and summer are too hot. i perfer fall, its nice and cool but not too cold like winter. AC costs too much money to run all the time.

Working on my cars, going fishing, golfing, camping.......

Sweet, I love fishing, too! I don't go nearly as much as I used to, though, which sucks. I always liked to fish for largemouth bass and bigger fish like Muskies or Pike. Golf is fun, but I suck at it :lol

fishing fo sho

and, the warmer weather, hitting the beach, lakes, and the women in summer clothes :lol

okay, that last part isn't as true, cause some go overboard, and lok skanky

Soccer. And the feel of the sun on your skin. And having to squint when you look at the sky. And the look of green grass covering the ground instead of white snow. And the smells of spring, my god, the smells...

Yeah, I'm not very good at golf either. Too bad it's still not warm enough here to head up into the mountains yet. In fact it snowed today. :?

Color in the trees and fields. The smell of flowers. Rain. Laying out in the grass. Climbing things. Rita's. More time to hang out with friends. It's all around the greatest time of year. It's bright, colorful, warm but not too warm or cold, doesn't feel stuffy, the time of rebirth, etc. I love spring.

Spring time? Sunshine? Flowers? Meh...I never liked spring, the sun stays up longer. Makes it harder to sleep. The bugs come back, the spiders come back, the annoying birds come back and build nest in places like the front of my window. Which adds a domino effect, that ants and other bugs attract to that bird nest. Last spring, I had fire ants in my room, thanks to a cute little nest near my window. It made a little path to the inside.

I'm a winter and fall man personally.

Yeah, I am already starting to get some nasty bugs down here in the basement/man cave. I don't really mind the spiders, it's these I hate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earwig ...and these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_centipede ....These suckers are huge, fast, and they bite!!!

*shivers* Ugh I hate those...

Don't kill those house centipedes! And if you ever see daddy-longleg spiders, leave them alone. They are very territorial and aggressive towards other spiders (read black widows and brown recluse). I hate bugs too. But I realize that they will end up in the house at one time or another.

I do not mind letting daddy long legs hang out. But centipedes...those things are super duper freaky! They are wiggly and have tons of legs and move real fast, so I kill em whenever I see em in the basement. I do not mess with the daddy long legs though.

I'd also much rather have daddy long legs than black widows and brown recluse/hobo spiders in my house. I also like to leave wolf spiders alone since they kill crickets.

Oh, and MegaDrive, if you like winter and fall you should move to Utah. At the rate we're going that all we're going to get this year. >:(

When it actualy reaches spring, I think... "Crud... so much for the nice cold weather. Maybe it'll actualy rain before it gets to summer... oh well... one more season closer to Christmas at least. YAY!"
