So today my wife says she wants to buy me an entertainment center for my games and whatnot. I'm thinking cool. So I go into my room and start to box up some systems that have been sitting for a bit to speed up the change from my ragtag setup to the sexy high-tech. Then I remember a problem...
A few weeks ago, I come home to my Game Cube hanging off the shelf in the livingroom. I hit the roof. Wife blames the youngest. I secretly blame her, because she didn't do anything to stop it, and didn't do anything to put it back on the shelf. I run it through the paces. Life is good. It's now resting in the box.
I then remember my PS2, who had a similar incident. I hook it up today, and guess what? It works. The only problem is when the game initially loads up, it's really loud. I check the disc to make sure I had it seated perfectly. Yep. Start it again and same hum. It sounds like the motor is not balanced at high speed. But like I said, it's only when the screen goes from the "Playstation2" screen to the title screen of the game. About 5 seconds long.
Can this be fixed? Should I not care? Should I just toss it out in favor of a new one? I've had it for about 5 years, and it's never given me issues. I actually am aiming these questions at Mega, but anyone else's opinions are welcome.
