Today's Video Games Aside,What Was Your Favorite Toy When You Were A Kid?

Hi People.

I know this is a "Gaming Forum",but this topic might interest some members.

"Video Games" aside,I believe the best toys were made in the early 80's.My all-time favorite was "Jaws",where you had to use long hook to get the stuff out of the shark's belly.Does anyone remember that toy?

I also remember the small arcade style games that were similar to the shape of the regular arcade games,but much smaller.Does anyone remember playing "Pac-Man" or "Donkey Kong Jr." "?Unfortunately they sucked the "Batteries" dry so fast. :lol

My friends and I used to pretend all kinds of things. My favorite is when we would pretend we were in a Nightmare on Elm Street movie. Someone would be Freddy, and someone would be that one person who could somehow manage not to fall into his trap. ^_^

Ok but like a real toy? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures. I kicked Barbie out of the Barbie convertible and the turtles would ride in it with April O'Neal.

No joke those were my favorite toys, too! I was also pretty fond of transformers toys, but those always got stolen from me :lol
 
I've gone through so many toys it's not funny. lol

But, I still play with all my Lego and Mechano models and stuff. Or, at least I still have built sets I look after. And there's still a box of toy soldiers of various types and tons of cars. Then there's the various action figures. :)
 
Legos when I was really friggin' young.

Then Transformers and G.I. Joe.

After that it was onto the original NES.

My grown-up toys include mostly guitar equipment at this point. Then again, I do have an Alien 3 "Bambi" Xenomorph and a plush Facehugger...

When I was younger,my favorite toys were:"He-Man Figures"
"Transformers"
"Tonka Trucks"
"Stretch Monsters"
"Lite-Brite" among others.

I have walked through toy areas of stores and have often thought, especially when my daughter was growing up, that I was born at the wrong time. But thinking back, I think it was modeling clay, a Kenner give-a-show projector, little green army men and fire crackers combo, thing maker, matchbox cars, and Major Matt Mason.
Presently I will pick up and purchase a toy to sit on my desk or bedroom dresser. I have things like the Hulk, C3PO, R2D2, Daffy Duck, etc. :)

Lego's was and still are my favorite. I have like all of them still in my room at home.

I also had hundreds of Hot Wheels cars, tracks, and those city streets and tolls. It was so fun doing traffic and stuff with them

Yeah we did the same thing with Freddy and Jason back then too :lol

real toys? Oh god, I was so spoiled....TMNT...GI Joe...He-Man...Transformers...yet I was very heavy into TMNT for a long time...from 88' until 1994

Legos were a big one for me. Plenty of board games too, with Parcheesi (or however you spell it) and Sorry being the big favorites. Also used to be some Hungry Hungry Hippos occasionally, befor ewe lost all the marbles.

Video Games are toys NerdMeech,Some adults won't admit that they like video games because they're afraid of being labeled as "Childish" by others. :D
