I'm so bad. Sorry. I really did try to make that without being sarcastic.

But you know, it just didn't work.

I mean, they buy Rare for millions of dollars, and what have they gotten?

Grabbed by the Ghoulies. :p

Conker: Live & Reloaded...which they have showed at E3 how many times, and is pushed back again until May 2005. :lol I wouldn't be surprised if we see it again at this year's E3.

Kameo: Elements of Power...another game they showed at E3 last year that's pushed back until after E3 this year (if it comes out at all)..I guess I get to see it again! I hope they've worked on it since then. It was really boring at E3 last year.

And last but not least: Perfect Dark Zero. This is the title that everyone is looking forward to. People bought XBOXs because it was supposed to be a launch title. However, we haven't seen jack on it this generation. Guess what? It's not coming this generation. It's rumored to be a launch title for the XBOX 2.

I'm pretty disappointed in Rare this gen.

I never liked Conkers, so I doubt ill like the new one when it releases............and i was looking forward to perfect dark zero since i heard about it on the GC years ago.....its all just a big dissapointment right now

I put No, because Conker is going to be worth it. I'm really looking foward to this game, not because of the single player, but because of the multiplayer. It was so fun on the 64 and online it's going to be amazing.

man... link, just remember, sometimes games lose their magic.  Rare is not the same as what they were.  Its like going from goldeneye to agent under fire  :'(

Honestly...I see now why Nintendo let them go.  Heck... Rare released games faster on the N64... and they were snail paced then!!

Kameo..... which was on the back of the Gamecube box suprises me.  This game was supposed to be out in what... 2002 :lol :lol
2003 at the latest.  Shame.....  it actually looked great... and the Gamecube had MANY screens on this.. and supposively it was 60-70% done.. whats taking so long?

PD0.. you won't see until Xbox2... at least I doubt you'll see it till then.

You'll be lucky to get conkers on this system... especially with Xbox 2 and all the newer systems SUPPOSIVELY coming out at the end of this year (unless they got some smarts and decided to push their system launch back).

I really think Rare was a worthless buy.  Everyone was ticked off at Nintendo, but with hindsight vision being 20/20.... Good Job NIntendo.

I think rare is a faint memory of good gaming from the N64 era.

Kameo....They had it at E3 last year as a playable, and while the graphics were beautiful, the gameplay needed a lot of tweaking. It was pretty boring, IMO.

I can't believe that switching from Gamecube to the XBOX would take so much time that they had to delay it indefinitely. What are they doing that's taking so long?

Was Kameo really supposed to be on the N64?  :o

That's even more pathetic than I thought. They had it at E3 last year as a playable, and while the graphics were beautiful, the gameplay needed a lot of tweaking. It was pretty boring, IMO.

DANG... I edited that. I tried so hard to not do that error.

:lol oops.
um... they are making it ... who knows.... its just taking forever. Its going to suck money out of the company...

I'm with Link 100%. CBFD is still one of my favorite 64 games, coming in second only to OOT. It would be worth it to play that again on the Xbox even if all they did was update the graphics and add online. They have added both of those with incredible results, and I definitely think this game is going to be a hit. People will be playing this masterpiece long after the Xbox 2 comes out.

And for the record, Grabbed by the Ghoulies looked like poo (never played it, never wanted to play it) and Starfox Adventures for the GC sucked hardcore (IMO). So far Rare is batting 0 for 2 but I got a good feeling their next swing is gonna be a monster grand slam. Although I think Nintendo may have done the right thing by letting them go (though production was obviously slowed to switching consoles, GC owners may have actually seen a Kameo and PD0 had Rare stayed with Nintendo) I really wish that I could add this game to my collection, even without the online feature.

Ya, its very possible that they may not make a return in this game, which is a shame, especially the Beach level. However, many, many, new modes have been created, and it supports up to 16 players, so even if it was just a straight CTF game mode I'd be happy.

I seriously think CBFD is only going to be mediocre at best.

we'll see though.

AND How long ago was Rare bought out? They are not taking this long because of console changes. Its because they are naturally slow.

I seriously think you're underestimating this game. Have you seen any screenshots on this game? The graphics alone will make it stand up above most games.

I won't be happy. Those multiplayer games is what made it stand apart from all the others. Sure, let them add CTF, and every other friggin mode that is in every other friggin game. If they do that I swear to god...

Did you base the N64 game on its graphics?

Graphics alone mean squat.

I have seen the screens... and I seriously think the game will be mediocre. My bet is a 7.0-7.5 rating. My opinion is based on some vids released awhile back.

@Archangel

... what? :)

@ Link

I read an article around the time of E3 that explained some of the unique multiplayer modes that they had. I don't think the ones in CBFD are returning but they came up with a whole shwack of different ones that aren't in every other game. The only one I can really remember was a "The Thing" mode, which for anyone whose seen the movie is pretty self explanatory.

Rare has come up with some crazy multiplayer modes that no one has seen before, just have a little faith. Remember, these are the people that created the game modes like Beach, Raptors, etc., I'm sure they can come up with some other great ones.

@ BV

I said the the graphics alone make it stand up from most other games, but that doesn't even include the solid gameplay that is sure to come with this title, as well as the great amount of humor that will be in the single player mission, and of course, the multiplayer should blow everyone away. I don't understand how you can say this game is going to be mediocre when you read things about it and see pictures and videos on it. Unless you found the original CBFD to be mediocre, in which case you'll will probably find this game to be mediocre.

I still think it's a shame to do away with some of the other modes, but it cheers me up knowing they are putting some other great ones in. Just thinking about this "The Thing" mode makes me want to play it, I know the movie and all and this sounds like a great idea.

Conkers for 64 was so kick azz. I never played the solo game but multiplayer was about as fun as it gets, especially that level where you come up on the beach like Normandy. I'm excited for the new one yea.
