The offical price of a Japanese Wii system will be...

Famitsu reported that Nintendo's senior management director Yoshihiro Mori has confirmed the price of Wii, the console will cost 25000 yen (US$222) in Japan. The price is about 1/3 of PS3 and less than half of Xbox 360.

I wonder how much nintendo will round off the price. Perhaps they'll round it down to $200, or up to $225 or $250. Or maybe they'll leave at $222, just to make it obscure.

and That is a good thing.... but then again... it could be $250.
Although if they are stating 1/3 of a PS3 (about...), I'd almost be inclined to think the Wii will come out at $200... and it that happens, I really think some steam will be taken away from the other systems PROVIDED that the titles are there. The Wii launch titles are looking decent though! I like a lot of them and I am pretty pumped for it.

Just another thought..... they said WILL COST.... does that mean it will cost Nintendo $222? or us? If it's Nintendo that it costs $222, I can almost guarantee a $250 price tag. Nintendo is known for being profitable across the board ... even with their systems. Most companies lose money on systems.

I'm gonna say that the price will then be $199.99 here in the U.S. Which by comparison is a huge bargain, no doubt.

That would be great if it were only $200. That's much less than the PS3 and the Xbox 360. I could probably afford to get an extra game as well.
